As it says, I have changed my mind, I iant going to wait and am going to write to Natwest, Barclaycard and Marbles requesting a a list/breakdown of charges during the last 6 years.

Problem I am having is, I cant find the template letters asking for the breakdown. ( I can find the one for bank charges, but not credit cards - might be the same letter for all i know)

Anyway, I want to make sure I understand this right (and i have read alot of the info on the boards)

I write to them, including the payment of £10 - i kinow they cant charge more than this asking for the breakdown, then, when i recieve this i total it up, add some interest (the calculator on here) then i write back, tell them i want it (or i start to kick as*)

I appreciate this is rather crude way of putting it, and probably missed out some info, but is that about the basics?

My letter to A&L requesting termination of PPI is already in the post - thats about £40 a month, plus what ever they knock off the loan

  • Hi, yes you have the basics right.

Send off the letter which asks for your statements and gives them 40 days to send you the information.

Send them the preliminary letter and give them 14 days.

Then send the letter before action and give them another 14 days.

If they haven't paid up, file a claim.

The letter for credit cards is the same as the one for banks.

Thanks for that. just one point though - the preliminary letter - this is the one requesting my money (after i have had the statements) - incidentally, how long does it usually take them to send the statements?

  • Hi,

Just got my latest bill from MINT and I've noticed that they have billed me for a late payment. I totally forgot to pay on time as when I received my bill the site was down and I put the bill away and it totally slipped my mind.

Just want to check if theres any way to reclaim this? Im guessing theres not but hey, its worth a try.

Ask Mint. I recently paid my Tesco card a couple of days late and got charged £12, I phoned Tesco intending to have a real moan and they refunded me before I even said a word.

  • I have been charged more than ten times over the last few years on my Lloyds TSB Mastercard. Can I claim back these fines? Can you try and claim back fines from all credit cards?

    Help appreciated!!

If you read some other posts, you will find many people have claimed back from Credit Cards.
