When you say it is 3000 overdrawn is that 3000 more than your limit or is that what you have charged to your credit card?
You can't claim back interest that is charged on a monthly basis for merely using your credit card but you can put in a claim for the late payment charges if there are any.0 -
Hi there everyone,
I thought id share my experience I had today when i received a late payment charge from GE Capital that controls my Burton store card.
It was my mistake, trying to setup a direct payment and canceling my direct debit thus incurring a charge when they applied for the payment from my bank. I called them (little tip; use 01132807080 instead of their 0870 number, kindly supplied by saynoto0870.com) all prepared to try and blag my charge back, instead i decided to be honest and explain calmly i had made a mistake and out right asked them to waive the charge.
To my surprise, they said they would, no hesitation, as a gesture of goodwill.:):):)
So, if youve been missed a payment, and been charged, call them and just ask them, if ya dont ask ya dont get as they say.
Hope this helps someone.

A few year ago i got myself a debenhams store card. I spent on it then paid the balance off when the bill came in.Horay i hear all you moneysavers shout, i thought i was very good aswell. Then i let my daughter spend on it, she promised to keep the payments up and she did but she was always late with them. She was charged £15 every time she did this about five times all together £75. Does anyone know if i could claim these charges back or are they gone for good.
Thanks Nanadotty0 -
Yes you can, I'm in the process of reclaiming some late payment charges from GE Money as well, it's the same procedure as with bank charges0

Since April 2006, these should have been reduced to £12, as per the OFT ruling. However, as the actual cost of automatically administering a late payment is £2 - £3, even £12 is illegal, as it is more than the cost involved.
Therefore, claim them. The card provider will probably use every trick in the book to delay, confuse and even bully you into giving up and going away. Always remember that, if it ever gets to a court, they will probably award the interest as well. Also, the last thing the companies want is to have to say, under oath and in an open court, exactly how much it does cost them! The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
actually they'd sent me a letter towards the middle of march saying that after 6 April the late payment fee would be reduced to £12 from £15, but yes so far it had been £15. They also introduced a cash handling charge, while previously you could go to a debenhams store and ask for cash with no charge0

Anyone have any luck with this company?
It's not a lot of money, but I need all the cash I can get!0 -
Don't do it!!! Read my post above (Bank failures!?!?!) to see how messy things can get.0

Can I just point out that Style Financial Services is a store card issued via the Royal Bank of Scotland0
