Hi, Can you reclaim credit card charges once they have defaulted etc.... Capital One are just ignoring my letters for requesting statements and what the charges are for... I now have a debt collection agency badgering me, to which i keep sending them back copy letters sent to Cap 1 and suggest that they refer back to their client (cap 1). Then they send me a letter stating that they are no longer dealing with this, the next thing i get another one from a different debt collection agency and the saga goes on.
What i want to know is, can i start a claim against Cap 1, despite it already defaulting and going to debt collection agency? also does anyone know if you can claim on loans and mortgages that have finished but had charges on in the last 6 years.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this, so I could really use a little help please. I've completed my first letter to claim back charges from our bank accounts, but how do I alter the wording on the letter for credit cards? Shall I just request details of all default charges for the past 6 years, or do I have to be more specific? Many thanks in advance for your help, Tina

You can claim 'late fees'
Just change the text to say 'Late payment penalties' or whatever your Credit Card company words them as.

Has anyone tried to reclaim credit card charges for late payments and been successful? MBNA have told me I can't claim these back because they have already reduced the charges. Is this true?0

Hi
Were going through the process of claiming back charges from the Natwest,I was wondering if we could claim back charges on a Barclaycard I had years ago "First credit card".The problem is the account is now closed and I haven't got any of my account details, any ideas how I can get the details of my account.
Thanks

Either I'm being lazy or thick or unable to find it with the search function....
Can you reclaim Credit Card charges as you can with the bank ???????
I had a nasty incident with an ex, who decided to take two of my CCs back in 2002/3 and run up a massive debt just before she left me, she basically made herself aware of my PIN numbers and took the cash outta the hole in the wall.....about £5000.....paid it all back, but I got murdered with charges, wouldn't mind getting those back....0 -
I wrote to Barclaycard to claim back a late payment fee of £20 from 2004 and they wrote back saying that they wouldn't refund me the charge as it was my fault as I had made the payment late.
Do I need to accept that I will not be seeing that £20?0
