Agree with Coupon Mad. Please do write to the OfT with a copy of that letter, PS&P should not be allowed to send that sort of thing to people in the post.

Believe us - they CANNOT ATTEND YOUR PROPERTY LIKE BAILIFFS!

Email the DVLA as well as the OfT, Trading Standards and your MP.

The DVLA should take swift action if you make it clear to all the recipients of your complaint, that this letter is coming on behalf of a private parking firm who reckon they are AOS members. Tell them there is NO credit agreement, no contract between you and the case has not gone to a Small Claim Court.

DVLA email is:

mike.butler@dvla.gsi.gov.uk

and

FOI@dvla.gsi.gov.uk

copy it to both addresses as I have had responses from the latter email when reporting PPCs but Mike Butler is the one who may take action.

Also send a pm to 'Herbie' to have a look at that letter if she has time. Herbie is on here as an occasional poster but she is actually Sheila from baliliffadviceonline (very useful website). I think that letter crosses the line into impersonating a bailiff.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You might get another letter saying "we will be visiting on such and such a day at time" but they won't come.

Lovin' it!

Can't wait for them to try this with me (not that they will of course). Their letters to date have an incomplete address (thanks, postie!) and our post code always sends satnavs up a cul de sac, some way from the property.

How this is supposed to scare someone who has ignored 7 or 8 letters already into paying up is beyond me.

I have an old doorstep you can have as they seem to want to collect one!

If and it is a big if they did turn up, just tell them to leave. They have no authority whatsoever!
• Yesterday I received a visit from a debt collector representing PS&P to collect £121 'owed' to them after my son, using my car, parked at Leeds Met. University over 14 months ago. I ignored all the original letters they sent to me demanding payment and though they had gone away. However over the last couple of months I have received a number of letters about 'amount owing', 'increase in amount', 'threat of court action' and finally visit from their 'debt collector'. I told the lady yesterday that I was not in 'debt' to this company, that I was not driving the car at the time (although refused to say who was) and that she had no legal rights to demand any payments from me or, as the letter she handed me implied, value goods in my house. She implied that the matter had been dealt with by the courts, when I told her I had received no court summons, she then said that it would be and the bailiffs who came next would be far nastier than she was. She told me to phone the company to sort it out before it turned nasty, but I am loathe to speak to these robbing b******. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
PS I have tried to copy and paste the letter in without any luck.
• Copy the letter, host it on tinypic (other hosting sites are available) copy the url for massage boards and plonk it on here. Remove the http bit and we can then see it.
