True but who in their right mind would let them in anyway !

People who don't know the difference between bailiffs and debt collectors, which judging by the questions asked here in regards to it would account for a sizeable amount of people. They have no right to turn up at your door and you can inform them in writing (recorded) that you withdraw permission to visit, if they then ignore its not guidelines only they are breaking but the law.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Which law though ? Surely anyone can just turn up and knock on someone's door ? Even if permission to enter onto the land has been withdrawn surely this would only amount to tresspass which is not against the law i.e. not usually criminal.

    Love this:

"A reduced risk of adverse publicity by virtue of our professionalism, quality accreditation and established protocols and ethical standards".

Just thinking though.....several assurances given by posters on this thread that no one will turn up on your doorstep then out of the blue a newbie logs on to report just such an incident complete with 'evidence '(note with a blank client ref and no address).

  • Found this contract between Leeds Met and CPP.

    Juicy bits:
    C Company obligations
    2. The company is registered under the Data Protection Act and therefore will not
disclose any data obtained from the DVLA to the client. Nor shall the company
disclose any data regarding the client to the offender unless required by law to do so.
(How do universities get the names of students to harass & threaten with their degrees being withheld then?)
    G Debt Collection

    A late payment ch
arge (1998 Act) of 20% of the original charge to be added. This covers in its entirety the external debt collectors fee

I am not looking at the site, just the principle of withdrawing rights of a visit, you can do this, there are guidelines there, continued abuse is illegal.

    http://www.oft.gov.uk/about-the-oft/legal-powers/legal/cca/debt-collection

    The debt collector should:
    • only come into your home if you have invited them to

    The debt collector should NOT:
    • harass you by calling you frequently or making threatening statements or gestures
    • send you letters that do not clearly let you know who they are and why they are contacting you
    • pressure you into paying in full or in large instalments
    • threaten to give the details of your debt to others unless they are allowed to by law or tell you that they can take legal action when they actually cannot
    • make you think that they are bailiffs. Debt collectors do not have the same legal power as bailiffs and cannot force their way into your home or seize your possessions.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

Yep it's those pesky guidelines again, not laws ...in fact if you look at Chapter 4 re Enforcement there is no mention of criminal proceedings / prosecution being available for a breach, as far as I can see.
Which brings me back to my point that simply turning up unannounced is almost certainly not against the law ..it could be tresspass and if they refuse to leave then maybe harassment but just turning up unannounced ..against what law ?..I think you would struggle mightiliy to get anyone to take that up as worthy of a criminal sanction.
