Car Parking Partnership not giving up

Because in this case, they have left a note which suggests they have the power/right to enter the property and value the owner's possessions. That is surely a criminal offence of impersonating a bailiff and that is what I would be telling the Police, clearly stating that the person has no Court warrant.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Totally agree !
Still does not change my opinion that a DCA can just turn up on your doorstep and knock the door without actually breaking any laws ..OfT guidelines yes ..laws almost certainly not.
I only raise the point because there would be little to be gained by attempting to criminalize such behaviour when a simple slam of the door would suffice.0 -
Friend yo-yo has gone very quiet. I had expected an update from the second doorstep visit as per the threatogram.Ethical moneysaver0

Has he/she been outed? :rotfl:
Sorry to disappoint but no second doorstep visit...shame I was already with my mobile phone and my son's Dictaphone!!!! Read the Oft code of conduct re Debt Collectors and this joker is definitely trying to give the impression that they have powers way above the sewer they have crawled from. I certainly intend the sent a copy of the 'Notice' to the Oft and now await for the next correspondence from PS&P (PARASITES, SWINDLERS & PRATTS). I will keep you up dated!!!!0 -

Good! :T
And even better, yours is an absolute shoo-in surely if you wanted to sue the parking company and debt collector for a few hundred quid in damages like this poster intends:

All it would take would be a letter and then an online claim...then possibly a Small Claims hearing in 2013 if neither party caved in and paid you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In addition to what Coupon-Mad says above, who was the car park owner? Include them in any potential action, let them see for themselves what contracting these cowboys is liable to lead them into.
Under the Law of Agency, the person or company who contracted this parking company are liable for their actions.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
All the cases featured on here and on CAG seem to feature Universities with PCNs issued by the Car Parking Partnership. The OP on CAG also reports the "doorstep collector" letter. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Really interesting to see this thread
I reckon I am about a week behind 'YoYo' in my dealings with PS&P.
They sent me a couple of letters and final charge notices earlier this year which I duly ignored. Then in the last month I have had 3 letters, each more threatening than the last, full of 'you will be liable for court fees', 'the debt will increase if we are forced to send debt collectors to your home' and now 'if you dont pay in 7 days, we will send debt collectors'.
Needless to say, I have no intention of paying them, and the more bully-boy tactics they employ, the more I will play them at their own game. I don't take kindly to being bullied.
They haven't yet turned up, but the threat has really rattled my significant other, and I can really see how this tactic works.
My plan, is to answer the door, innocently ask for their ID, then the court papers and warrant of execution, then tell them that I will be complaining to OfT and telling them to get off my property before I call the police.
Any other suggestions?
I was ticketed in the carpark of the hospital where I worked and had a permit, for parking in a 'non-staff' space. Irritatingly I forgot to cancel my direct debit for 3 months after I left, so I have already paid the b**strds way more than I owe them anyway.
just hope i am home when they call, am worried about the effect this would have on my other half:(0 -
You are doing the right thing here, in regards to your direct debit I would demand that money back from them, if they refuse threaten them with the same carp you are getting, say that should you make a claim it will increase costs and will impact on them should you get a ccj against them, also say that court appointed bailiffs will attend their offices to take goods to the value of judgement should you win and they ignore. You don't work for them I gather you have no need of them
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Have you contacted your bank about this? The Direct Debit Guarantee scheme is there to protect you from such debits. The money should not have been taken, and it'll be a lot easier getting it back from your bank through the DD Guarantee (and let them chase the parking company for it).Irritatingly I forgot to cancel my direct debit for 3 months after I left, so I have already paid the b**strds way more than I owe them anyway.
When you do talk to the bank, don't mention tickets/PCNs etc, that's all irrelevant. The only thing relevant is you stopped working there, you no longer had a pass, you informed them of this (I hope), yet they still took payment.
And you don't "owe" them anything anyway, so don't even think of it like that. That acknowledges they have some claim to your cash, which they don't.0
