Good point "if you change your tariif but not your phone, and dont sign for a new min term ". I suspect they will take the opportunity of removing the ngn facilty. But i am not sure on this one.

of course, that would be asking to be sued!!

oh no this is terrible news, ive only got a few months of my existing contract left.

I left orange because of there deteriorating cs and their persistance in charging for things that used to be free.

The con is its often these 0870 numbers that you are left on hold for ages when you call.

well if o2 do this its definately a downer for customers. i think O2 are/was the only mobile tariffs that did include these numbers thou:(

Given that (hopefully) non revenue sharing NGNs are to be moved over to the 03 range, I think O2 is just trying to target us who use 08 numbers to make cheaper international calls. I mean, it just takes a few accountants who have the perception that we would make these calls at any cost to add up some numbers to show that a lot of potential revenue is being lost for O2 here (then again, we'd never make international calls at mobile providers' prices anyway!)

I guess in a year's time I'll have to start spending extra money on Chinatown calling cards *shrug*

I can't seem to find any good 12 months free line rental O2 deals. Only Mobileshop seem to be having them but they are currently unreliable when it comes to paying up.
  • don't know if this will help anyone but you could also look for a non geographic number on saynoto0870.com

Sorry if this question is repeated.
Is the plan of O2 to charge 0844 numbers from May affecting HIGH STREET PLAN? I am using HIGH STREET O2 Leisure Time Plus.

Assume I have bought a new contract from them now and from May they declare that they are going to charge 0844 numbers, could I cancel the contract then?I THINK IT IS POSSIBLY 'YES'.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THE HANDSET IF I GET ONE FROM THEM AND IT IS EXPENSIVE LIKE 150/200 POUNDS WORTH?DO I NEED TO RETURN IT TO THEM?

    Thanks in advance.

They intend to charge all new consumer customers both high st and online from beginning of may for ngn calls.

No you cant cancel the contract if you bought it now as ngn calls will still be included. It only comes into play for NEW customers from begiining of may,you would be an existing one if you signed up before then.

If you could cancel a contract before its original term they have the right to ask for phone back.
