How will 03 numbers help ?. Revenue sharing is not allowed on this numbering range. It will be charged as a normal geographical call. The cheap call providers would not make any money using them as access numbers.

Didn't realise they didn't do revenue share - guess it's time to switch back to orange for 07744 access to call abroad instead.

I'd also like to know this please

The same thing as any other O2 customer. Old contracts ok. New contracts from 1/5/2007 Ngn numbers not included.

all these changes at o2 since they were taken over by the spanish seem to reduced its appeal. No 07744. not up to minute billing to check call usage, billing for gprs usage that were previously free and now potentially charges for 08 numbers... all of a sudden the future looks bright.. (well for 07744) anyway.
    ummm...

hmmmmmmmm. .................... it's confirmed the changes will happen, only for new customers. new customers from may will only be able to call 01, 02 and 03 #s for free.

it's unclear whether existing customers will be able to call 03 #s.

it's also unclear how long 03 #s will remain around for.

    any ideas?

All customers will be able to call them, and they will be permanent like 01/02.

They are being introduced as an alternative to chargeable 08 numbers like 0870. Calls to 03 numbers will cost the same as calls to geographic numbers (01/02), and will be included as part of any inclusive call minutes in the same way as 01/02 geographic calls.

Revenue sharing, where the provider receives a share of what the customer pays to call will not be permitted on calls to 03 numbers. So they want be of any use to cheap call providers.

the stuff about o2 ....... ? take my word for it, i know these things.

interestingly, "Ofcom is also taking specific action to prevent scams on 070 ‘personal numbers’, which are often confused with mobile numbers. Ofcom will end 070 personal numbering allocations from the end of 2007."

when will they stop hospital 07 #s?
