Morning
Ooh, I hadn’t even noticed it was Friday 13th till I saw this thread!
Smokybabe, the ‘too sexy’ comment made me smile. Thanks!
Snowy, sorry about your car.
Mm, RacyRed dahl in a slow cooker – yum! Is there a recipe on MSE somewhere I could peak at? I need to get cooking again and I do love using lentils.
Ooh oldMcDonald chickpea curry also sounds yum! I used to have a recipe but lent the book to a friend….then never got the book back L
Today I’m going to be good and NOT buy any coffee from the canteen downstairs or by lunch. I have some food with me so must not be lazy and spend my money!
Blairweech – have fun in Taunton, my sister lives there it’s a nice place. Not too bad a drive from your town.
Thanks Twink
In London this weekend because for some unknown reason I had told my friend I’d go to an Osmond concert with her. I don’t even like the Osmond and the ticket is about £60!!! Not good when I have no money L
To cheer myself up I’m going to visit my brother and his gfriend tonight, they live just north of London. They moved there in the summer and I’ve never visited! Yes, I am bad sister
Have a good day all

Morning everyone
It is lovely and sunny here - hope it continues
Picked up our new car yesterday. It is fab! It is only 2 years old and the newest car we have ever had so very exciting. We downsized from a big estate car to a small fiesta so hopefully the running costs will be cheaper. The road tax in itself is only £35 compared to £180 for the old one  .
I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder and it soooo annoying. Even a simple task like washing my hair is taking an age!
Was in Sainsburys where they had 75% off their Easter Eggs. My mum took pity on me as I never got any at Easter and bought me a huge Celebrations one :j.
So far this morning I have a load of washing in and need to give the kitchen a tidy.
My mum mentioned yesterday she was doing some baking today for the bowling club my dad is a member of as it is their opening day tomorrow so I might have to pop in and visit her to "sample" the goods
Have a great day everyone

MushyPeas - recent thread on chana daal including RacyRed's slow cooker version. I did a recipe myself last week, not in the SC though - made it in a pan and used the recipe off the side of the packet. It was a bit on the hot side as I used fresh chilli and misjudged the amount
Also, re: not visiting people who live close-ish by... one of my cousins became a dad in October, and I haven't yet been to visit

even though they are only in North London! I am going to baby's dedication service on Sunday though...

Good Morning All
(((hugs))) to those who need them.
Bargain - the special offers relate to the day you have delivery.
Bit nippy here in Essex but is meant to be nice later. DS just gone to football and hopefully DD will be happy hanging about today.
My main plans are washing and ironing. Sister is dropping off her kids in a min so I need to look after them for an hour or so.
Didnt get on here yesterday as had a horrible day, firstly was worried about Puppy, 2ndly the microwave I got from tesco direct had a big dent in it, returned and got a different one, plugged that one in and it doesnt work so that had to be returned. We then tried to install our new fridge freezer to find out it was the wrong one. Then to cap it all the boiler isnt heating the water but is heating the rads even though the boiler is turned off!.
Have now dropped the puppy at the vets and have got everything crossed that its going to be a much better day than yesterday.
Anyway enough of that. Have got a tesco order coming later and will restock the cupboards at last. Builder is here and hopefully kitchen will be 90% done by the end of today.
Best be off now - washing is calling.
Lunch - god only knows
Dinner - pork chops, jacket spuds.
Have a good day.0 -

Morning all!
It's the fat pregnant one here ... I sort of have some of the day off work (long story  ) but I don't intend to do much. Baby's been doing its morning exercises so I'm feeling a little nauseous from all the shoogling of my internal organs, and I didn't get the lie in I was hoping for, but I've spent the morning having nice brekkie, surfing MSE and being pleased with myself for yet another bargainous eBay maternity clothing purchase.
The house is moderately tidy, so all I'm going to do this morning is wash up, sort some laundry and run the hoover round. Then the dogs and I shall take a walk to the river and enjoy the sunshine before I have to go and earn a living. OH has promised we'll do something nice together this weekend, although my bank balance this morning suggests it's unlikely to be something expensive and nice! So tonight I might do some baking and batch cook a big pot of something cheap.
Big hugs to those with aches and pains (be they physical or the sort that come with cars and MOTs!) and I hope you all ahve a lovely weekend ahead

What was it about not sleeping last night then? I was wide awake at 5am this morning starving hungry

OH has a day off today, but I've got him out of my hair for a couple of hours while he takes the car in for a new roof catch (or something?)
REALLY need a trip to Tescos/Sainsbury's as we seem to have run out of basics/staples - rice, pasta, eggs all at once. Why does that always happen?
Better get on with some work - I have a H&S Audit to type up, which is possibly the dullest part of my job, hence why I am putting it off
Amie - I'd still eat the chicken anyway, but we're pretty relaxed about thay kind of this in this house. I'd chuck it in a curry or something so that it got thoroughly reheated.
Libraries - everytime I join a library we seem to move house a couple of months later?? I haven't bothered since we moved here & it's been 5 years
Off to the kitchen to search for some food, I'm ravenous..............0 -
:hello:O'Sers :hello: :grouphug: if you need or want one:grouphug: just had a:coffee: and 2 more boxes unpacked:T :T A pan of mixed veg soup on the stove, wonder when they are coming with the new one?????? I used the oven last night and the pong was horrendous, I could smell it in the outside hallway!!!! I have had a go at cleaning it, using Mr Muscle.......sorry but it needed a strong cleaner...this morning I put the pan on to start the soup and the smell from the ring was awful..............spilt fat or something I think......however all I can smell now is soup!!!!
A reasonable nights sleep, I parcelled up the keys to our old house and OH has just gone to post them. I addressed the letter to 'Dear Landlord' I thought I would return the compliment from the letter SS sent us last Novemebr when he put his properties into the agents hands for letting.......
Jobs for today.......2 more boxes to empty and then I have an appointment with the ladder and the loft, we have some boards to go over the rafters so I can get some stuff up there, more out of the way........
Also want to put the cabinet up in the bathroom so I can empty another small box with medication etc in.......OH phoned the movers this morning to collect the boxes on Monday/Tuesday.......hopefully all 40 odd od them:eek:
Am in a bit of a strop with free cycle, I advertised my microwave yesterday, contacted someone who said she wanted it and asked her to ring re collection, has she rung........... no..........this also happened ;ast week with the wall cupboards ffrom the kitchen and the washing whirly..........if people cannot be bothered to collect the stuff why answer the adverts!!!!!
Right thats it for today.back to the unpacking.....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Penny Pincher!! - (((hugs))) if you're out there reading this.
jackiew (((hugs)))
Well, I'm feeling really quite motivated today. Probably because I realise that after yesterday's draining of cash (my car went in for a service), I need to make sure that my bank account doesn't disappear into a black hole. A bit of shuffling around of money is needed....
Before I take my car in for a service, I need to get a new windscreen. Somehow, there is a huge crack in one corner. Very suspicious..... The windscreen people can't come until Monday, so I can't get my MOT done until AFTER Monday!
We're going to visit friends tomorrow, so I'll have to think of an inspirational present to take them. Hmmm.......... probably chocs and a bottle of wine. We're staying over night, so I think both are definitely needed. Not that I'll be having chocs after having given them up again.
Lunch today will be boiled eggs with a bit of toast. Supper tonight is honey soy salmon............. mmmm........ my favourite (especially as it is cooked by me!!!
).

Hi all, beautiful day here, kids were playing outside now over at mums i think:D
Well tried the controlled crying monday night, well evening, he wouldnt stay in his bed, put him down, left it 5 mins etc, kept going in his toy cupboard, so sat at edge of bed, next thing i knew he had fallen off his bed and smacked his face off the floor:eek: havent done it since!! been managing it ok, so see how it goes, dh wasnt really supporting me so thought why bother!
Been looking for holidays for next year, small holiday in june/july as dh wants to replace car round about xmas next year, so thinking of denmark, be nice for the kids.
Catch up cleaning today, have put half of the clothes away, still loads to do, clean kitchen etc.
Still to make lo's bday card for tomorrow:j
Hugs
