yes thats 10 for me, double figures at last :T
I think we should all be on for December its do-able with a bit more planning, perhaps we could have a couple of wild card days for those unexpected events/pressies/invites etc. I need some focus dont want to be trotting off to the sales for things i dont need.... but convince myself i do :rotfl:
OH getting into the challenge hes not fully aware of what we are doing as he would suddenly have cravings for things and need to buy stuff, or be really tight and not even let me buy house essentials. But he knows we are trying to clear out the freezer and so has announced that tomorrows tea (he cooks each night:D) is chapati pizzas
Think i have about done with xmas stuff except a couple of gift vouchers and pressie for father in law. Got just about all i need to make the pots of gold up to having to do 5 now as doing one for secret santa at work as well as daughters boyfriend who is staying over on xmas eve so they will all look the same on xmas morning. Just need some gold cellothane, must look on ebay for that on next spend day.
Hoping for NSDs til saturday when i need to get this dreaded swimming costume - think i might trip out to meadowhall to see if they have any there....... but must not buy anything else:o
Keep up the good work everyoneUpdating .................................................

Hi all
Checking in for NSD number 12. Still an easy task for me at the moment!
Off to netball again in a minute so will be careful not to have anything stolen tonight
Am starting to put together a shopping list for the weekend, probably make Sunday my next spend day, although I might need fuel before that so we'll see how that pans out!
I honestly can't believe it's only a week and a half to payday already! This challenge is really keeping me focused, I would have been in and out of Mr T's at least 4/5 more times than this normally.
Right I'm off to make a flask of tea to take to netball, sounds silly but I'm only subbing on 1/2 way through so will be standing around in the cold for the other half!!!! :cool:Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
A spend day for me today:)
Been to Tesco and bought a few bits, total spend for month now stands at £118.61 which meant I could transfer £25.39 to my secret sock:j
Petrol bought too, and should hopefully last the month. Picked up a few small Xmas presents while I was in town, managed to get a space in the 2hr free parking car park too:) I think I will be able to put some leftover petrol money in the secret sock too, but we shall see...
I now have an envelope with £96 in which is for groceries to last from 19th to 30th. I am gonna try my hardest to get this as low as possible, 12 days and I should be able to use a lot more up from the freezer. I will have to buy fresh bits when I come back after the weekend but even so, hoping to keep the spends small.
Back on the NSD's now until Monday. Weekend away spending money all paid for out of last months money and awaiting our departure:D As I won't be spending any of this months money while away fri, sat and Sunday will count as NSD's.
Have a good evening all...November NSD's - 70 -
Hello reporting in with NSD number 12- was very lucky and got home from work to find my OH had bought me a cream cake. He was very pleased when I told him I would report his good boyfriend behaviour on the NOvemeber thread this evening
Just to clarify I did not ask for the cake but there was no way I was going to turn down free cake- this would not only be rude and a waste but also against everything I believe in.... yum...cake.
Will be a long day at work tomorrow so hoping for NSD 13 however some one has already suggested a takeway for tea during the shift. It is NOvember and I will remain strong- I have left over chilli and a jacket potato- I will not need takeaway...sniff. I'll report back and let you know- wish me luck.
Kat- my profiteroles were a bit mixed in the end- the actual little roles were quite good but the choc sauce receipe I followed was not good- every one ate what they had but the sauce was clearly too sweet...So will have a look on line for some ideas as an alternative sauce to try... unless any thrifty NOvemeber challengers have any ideas??
Just realised my post is about food food and more food - so think I'll end it there.
Keep up the good work everyone xJan 2015- credit card debt £6970.63/ Loan - £7865
Total- £14835.63

Hello NOvemberites, Reporting in with NSD#12.
My budgets are working well so far, originally it was £20 for each 7 days, then I cut it to £10 for a personnel challenge, going well, spent £25 in 2 weeks but have enough food/dinner stuff for approx another 7-10 days. So only milk and bread will be needed.
I seem to be getting through this a lot better than I thought, it seems to have helped planning in advance, checking cupboards and freezers etc. Also I am off work just now due to illness,so hardly been out the door, also not driving for next 6 months,so no petrol or insurance to pay, so good savings all round.
Hope you are all coping with the challenge as well as me.
We are all at the half way mark come tomorrow,so lets keep the heads up and keep listening to NSK's pep talks :rotfl:“Just Say NOvember; Batten Down the Hatches”. #8 £39.30/£[STRIKE]90[/STRIKE]£40 NSD 25/25

Good evening one and all...
Already ticking over to Thursday and the close of our 2nd NOvember week.. can you believe how well we are all doing!! I can see that most posts are about food but I do believe its the one area that most people waste money - NOT any more though!!
CONGRATULATIONS on your 2nd WEEK!!!
I went walkabouts today before my weekly Wedneday meeting and earned £1.15 in Quidco check-ins. I also made my way to Covent Garden ( just to look ) and got a pot of free New Covent Garden soup as they were doing a promotion. Carrot and Corriander.. bit bland but it warmed me up!
Well done to Abundant for staying strong with friends.. this is a lesson to us all!! I Will Win I have the same budget as you I think...£20 a week and at £23 ish pounds now.. not so hard eh! Shall check in with you at the end of week three to ensure this positivity is still sky high... hope you are relaxing though and making use of Jeremy Kyle in the morning for cheap entertainment....**grimace**
Wishing My Life Away.. tell the OH I am very proud of him! cake initiative noted and chalked up...:T
Jamiedodger - YEAH for free petrol. I think your £96 leftover for food should be fine... spaghetti hoops and cheese-string - sorted!:rotfl:
..and a MASSIVE well done to anyone who has another NSD under their belt... those that are in double figures and those that are going to slog it through an NSD rife weekend.. I shall eat the free popcorn a colleague found in his desk today.. only a few months out of date..:rotfl:
Josiebabie - I made tea to carry around London today..:rotfl:..I LOVE being frugal!!!
Cranny44... very funny about the pizza's coming up.. bet they will be just lovely! Bless him...:)
Right I have to hit the hay.. Good night..
Onwards and UPwards...!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Did my spend yesterday - bag of spuds reduced to 50p and should last at least 10 days - jackets, mashed (some frozen for later), stew, cheesy bake etc.
Also reduced basics cheddar (2 large packets for 80p in total) - Welsh Rarebit, Cheesy Bake, Pizza, Jackets, cheese straws (when I get the recipe out), French Onion Soup, Fondue (questionable, but might be a laugh one night),
Still got tuna, baked beans, couscous, pasta, rice in the cupboard, and peas, oven chips, fish, mince, 2 roasting joints, sliced apples, raspberries, and a couple of home cooked and frozen dishes in the freezer.
Very little in the fridge - butter, OJ, milk, home made jams, marinades, mayo, half a jar of olives, and some fish defrosting for tomorrow's dinner.I divorced my First Husband on Religious Grounds:A

Hello,
You're all doing great.:T
I can report NSD 13 for yesterday but today will be spend day 3 as I need to go for groceries tonight, don't think baked beans with couscous will go down too well:D. This month is going well on one hand on the other it's still 2.5 weeks till payday . I guess having a cheap nursery month tricked me into believing it's a short one. Never mind. Onwards and upwards

I know it sounds really sad but I am so looking forward to a spendy day tomorrow and getting my weekly grocery shopping, even though my list of requirements is very small and consists mainly of the usual basics; bread, milk plus fruit and veg.Mortgage
