  • Well that was NSD number 14 :D yesterday as I was too tired to be bothered to go to Tesco last night. So it was pretty much baked beans and toast for tea :o. Might find sth similar for tea tonight and make Sat my spend day as we're going to a birthday party anyway and might have to spend sth.

  • Shopping day for me today and I definitely felt the pinch a few times and had to prise myself away from several 'bargains' that I most probably would have bought if I had some slack in the budget. I strayed only 20 cents over my allocated $100, no wonder it felt quite tight as $19 of that was kitty food.

If all else fails, at least no animals will be harmed in the making of NOvember. :D

  • Good MORNING NOvemberists.... :wave::wave::wave::wave:

What a lovely FRIDAY morning it is in London Town ( :rotfl:).. bright but foggy, cold and fresh it is the day before the weekend starts and all is well.....ALL IS WELL!

I am chugging towards NSD 14 and will be super proud of myself. However I am just as proud of all of you... not just the regular posters but those that are mooching along and only stop in once in a blue moon to advise us they are still alive!! ( MMY that's you:p)

A wonderful poster on my other thread advised me that this weekend if a FREE INSERTION on eBay so get your PJ's on, make tea, sit your butt down and start listing... I have the following that is going on eBay...

    • 13 dodgy non-European ISBN books.
    • A brand new mini-deep fat fryer...(?)
    • A "Me to You" teddy bear and ex got me.
    • A beautiful Primark top that is too small..(if I find the button that's missing ).
That doesn't sound like much but I think those books are going to keep me going for a while...Grr!!

GelMC - thank you for your confession! LOL!! Somethings can't be missed and if it means you were being a little social then don't panic.. get something on eBay this weekend though to balance things out please? December is being planned as I type.. the ideas / rules & punishments are being decided upon and scrutinized...:T

Glad you got the Motormate app sorted... I still haven't had the "in car cradle and charger" sent to me...I might chase that up as its something else to put on eBay...

Thank you for the cinema thread.. I will be keeping an eye on it. Still need to see the new Bond film.. might go on my own over the weekend if I can. Doesn't bother me... worse is waiting for someone else to do something before you do...

Polly - well done on 11 NSD's.. Suuuuperb! Cranny44 you too.. we like a bit of balance when it comes to expenditure! Pizzas sounds lovely - I am going to use up some leftover sauce and make a few pitta pizzas tonight.. and some banana muffins...

Candy... my poor darling Candy... have you nothing to add to eBay? Are you being sufficiently ruthless with your downsizing..? However work OT like mine is the easiest way to earn more money.. I put in for 3 more shifts tomorrow. Not sure how successful I will be but fingers are crossed... I am considering a proper blog first before the book.. just don't know how to go about it...
    :(

Jamiedodger is off for a dirrty weekend. Answers on a postcard as to where we think she's gone...:A:A:A

Searching_Me.... I understand about your poor doggie. I need to get some cat litter that I forgot the other day. She is refusing to go out so much now as she is too cold so I might be nice and break my NSD for her..GRR!! Glad your ex is coughing up.. makes life a little easier for you!!

WanttobeSE...cinema or no cinema? Would renting a Dvd be cheaper..? From the Library even cheaper still...? Let us know what you decide... I am with Cineworld and pay £15 a month to watch however many I want.. not sure if I will continue after my year is up though...

MMY thanks for stopping by. We like updates from random posters... Glad you got a secret sock on the go. I want a new laptop with mine...You should get one of those money boxes that we mentioned on here a few pages back... its on Amazon for £2.50.. takes up to £500 in £1 / £2 coins and you have to use a can opener to get into it.. so you are more likely to leave the money in there... I am getting one...:T

TriftyLass.. might stock up on beans the next time I am in the shops.. easy meal. However I still know the bean meaz heinz song off by heart...I shan't start...:D:D:D

Right I booked a pre-planned pre-money a-side flight to Ireland last night... £132 to Belfast.. What a joke! However I want to see family and couldn't dream of staying over here..I re-jigged a few plans and reduced the flight from £190:eek: due to dates...pffffff...I had to buy baggage as well as I needed to bring back some PROPER wheaten bread not this horrific Sainsbury's Paul Rankin stuff ( Siouxsie you know the difference right?)...but will be bringing my laptop to check up on you all during the upcoming December Challenge....mwah ha ha ha ha!!!:)

I have spoken to a friend who has been to Marrakesh many many times. His boyfriend has opened a Moroccan style Spa in London ( The Dolphin Spa ) and they are well versed in where to go... it seems like the best place for my 30th..cheap, a little crazy, daily Hammams, not to hot in April I think, a day-trip,.. plenty of food and more Hammam's.... He might be able to sort out something a little cheap or free.. however its very minimal prices from what I saw today on booking.com.. its the £240 flight that annoys me...

    Right enough waffle... I have
[STRIKE]December to plan[/STRIKE] work to do...

    PROPER wheaten bread

The very reason I'm too scared to join whatever January challenge you're cooking up :rotfl: I'm visiting over the holiday period and would need a kat authorised excemption certificate to buy my wheaten bread every morning I'm in NI (thats all I need, I won't spend anything else :money:)! It can't be bought in bulk, it needs to be warm from the baker every morning :D

Ha ha Siouxsie I know what you mean! What about a treacle farl? So hard to find but worth the pennies. Last one I ate was in a caravan in October last year in Coleraine... *eeeek*..

There will be a December challenge first. It will be "nice" in comparison I think due to the holiday season...maybe..

Ooh, never tried a treacle farl - I always get seduced by the wheaten bread and the soda farls that I never get beyond them...maybe that could be my challenge, although maybe not - I'd end up getting both and spending twice as much and hve a growing waistline

If I'm allowed my daily NI bakery pilgramage, I'll sign up to December and January :A (unless they're too fierce and I wimp out - only joking!!)

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Afternoon :)
Well, we did go to the cinema. Cost us £13, plus £10.30 for popcorn and drinks (i can hear the sharp intake of breath from here, Kat, but fear not, all will be explained)...BUT, i paid for the ticket using the money that has been in my grocery budget since the start of this month.
I cant remember if i told you all, but i take out £60 every week, and whats leftover gets put in a jar. well, i had enough to cover the ticket :)
And the £10.30 was covered by paypal, which is from selling on ebay.

Skyfall is an EXCELLENT film, and i'd recommend everyone to go and watch it (on the cheap of course!). It was so lovely to have some Mum and Son bonding time too, as sometimes its forgotten that they need quality time when they get older. He's a good boy, bless him.

Havent managed to get my food shopping done though, so am off to do that in a few mins. Going to limit myself to a max of £30, as a personal 'am i insane' challenge ;)

gelmc free parking in sheffield you're best off parking in centertainment and tram in to town centre as parking is either 2hours for £2.50 or £7 all day in the cheapest ncp ... sometimes you can park behind the back of the train station and walk down .. the further or of town you go the freer it is ... how well do you know sheffield because if you know it well enough theres roads behind b&q on queens road you can park all day for free if you dont mind a 5-10min walk ...

well today was a spend day but boy did i get some bargain .. got a toilet seat and stool for my DS for £5 and 36 toilet rolls for £5 i now have over 50 loo rolls if they all go before xmas im gonna be extremely annoyed ... all in all with food and dog food and carpet cleaner because my carpet stinks and plug in air freshers (i put on in the hallway directly under my coats makes the room smell nice as well as my coats saves on fabric spray which i make myself) £69.11 so that brings my total to £147.19 ... im quite pleased with myself if im completely honest usually i would of blown my budget and not realised ... and funny thing is my cupboards have never been so stocked :D ...

tomorrow is a planned spend day as is sunday ... but nothing else ... chuffed little me :D x
    :)Still searching .....:)
