Morning all.
Not going to count yesterday as a spend day, as i was using us money already allocated and it didnt include having to actually use money from the bank.
So i have so far had 13NSDs. Today will be a spend day, as i STILL havent managed to go food shopping! I have worked out that i wont have to spend much, as i have the basis for plenty of food in the house, all i need is to buy a few bits and bobs.
Snacks are our major expense, so....
Shopping list for today:
Juice
Bananas
Cereal
Cheap choc bars (30p each, for cooking with)
Tomato puree
Sugar
marg
bar of soap
sanitary towels.
with those food items (combined with what io already have in the house), i will be able to make these snacks:
Oaty biscuits
Shortbread
Scones (raisin ones and cheese ones)
Almond cakes
Bakewell Tart
Bounty Balls
Millies Cookies
Hobnobs
That should EASILY see us all through a week. My sons are like human rubbish bins when it comes to food, but i guess they are active growing lads so they need to eat a lot.
What are you all up to today? We are off out for a walk in the woods. Its very chilly here today, but the walk will do us all the world of good0 -
Good Day to you all...
WantToBeSE... you sound like you have a PROPER plan.. this is kinda what I have been doing. I bought 3 bananas last week which have made 12 mufins which are cooling as we speak. I will freeze them and take one to work in the morning each day and give it a whizz in the microwave... they taste GOOD. I added cinnamon and walnuts&pecans ..#leftovernuts...
I also have enough carrots for cake which is baking right now.. I replaced the raisons its supposed to have with apricots that I had lurking around.
Also enough carrots hanging around for more soup which will easily get me through the week with a possible "not needed" spend day! I have milk to see me through just need to resist the urge to make more macaroni and cheese...although I think I am out of plain flour...
The day is cold here.. I have a night shift tonight so might stay in although a walk would do me good aswell.. maybe a nap would be a better idea...
Okay pitta bread and broad bean humus then nap I think...
Didn't get to watch any films last night as I was so tired but I think I could stretch to 1 before heading to work...
Graze box arrived... and is about to be cancelled!!!
Thats all for now folks.. more later tonight from work.

Really pleased with myself this afternoon.
I bought some Tesc0 basic mince (£2.20)- 750g.
I cut it in half, and put half in the freezer (this half will mke 2 meal for all 3 of us at a later stage)
Then I made a meatball mix from the remaining half. This made 24 meatballs, so i put half of the mix in the freezer, and have half for dinner (4 meatballs each, to have with spaghetti and sauce).
So, from £2.20, i have so far made 24 meatballs (2 meals worth) plus another 2 meals worth of mince left. So 12 meals in all (3 of us x 4 meals).0 -

Oops, had an unplanned spend today
Got text from a friend of mine who happened to be in my area so we met for lunch. It was totally out of the blue and not near my home otherwise I'd have invited him over for a bit of homecooked entertainment. Spent £7 which is okay as I'm still well within all my budgets but I was planning a supermarket trip tomorrow and I now only have 2 spend days left. Hmm, will need to get creative! I had a lovely time so it was all good, just gutted I didn't make my 5 in a row target cos I wanted one of the wee smiley blue faces over on the NSD thread!!
Other than lunch, I did clock up an extra £80 overtime and I'm home in my PJs, ready to catch up on everyone's stories0
