Hi. Unbelievable! I managed a totally NSD today despite everything. Normally this amount of worry would have had me heading for the nearest shopping mall.
DD was seen quickly - hardly any waiting time, taken for ultrasound, treated with care and by very friendly nurses and doctor. Took samples for testing, and by the time she was dressed and gone to reception in the next department for the results appointment, the letter had already been prepared, and in the post.
Have to wait 2 weeks, but they stressed as much as they could it was only precautionary, better to be on the safe side.
Despite the soreness from the needle site, she insisted on going back to school as she said she felt better as the inflamation/ infection had been drained away.
If I hadn't been given it, I would have bought her a huge bar of chocolate (her request) as a well done for being so strong. I was given £5 to treat her as the local corner shop was doing a pre Christmas discount of 3 for £5.
Not what she'd normally get, but stuff it. One will be kept for Sunday as she has been invited to Twilight, and it saves on cinema prices. The other will probably be shared with her Dad. None for meas I'm allergic to it

Thanks so much searching_me. Will try those roads near b and q. that sounds the best prospect.
Now on NSD 11, but tmrrw will be a spend day. Need to get a card and pressie for my friend plus some other bits. Will have to do main shop on Sunday.
Have a good weekend everyone! x0 -
Hi all...
Had a financially good day! Resisted the lure of the chip shop (though was sorely tempted) but broke open the pasta instead!!! Store cupboard looking a little less full - but still a few meals in there yet (and PLENTY of rice cakes).
My next planned spend is Wednesday (for lunch) so I have a few days to get through!!!
Today makes NSD number 13!
Well done everyone - love that we are all encouraging each other... It's helping me loads, so thanks...

Evening all NSD 12 to report. I have decided that i am going to carry on with this no spendy days and try to just have one spend day per week in future. I have learned alot from this site over the last year and am already feeling better off. I had begun a spend diary and have been gradually cutting things back. This challenge has taken it to a new level my spend diary is almost empty and my bank mini statements are too. Its a lovely feeling and I like it :jP0lly xJBFF # 20 NSD 12/25

Hi all
Wow, I have lots of catching up to do on this thread...
Sorry I've been awol all week but the stuff has hit the fan at work and it's been an absolute pig of a week (and looking like next week may be worse). As a result I've had not a minute of spare time and have really missed being on mse and catching up with people. I have also really missed my real life as well.
But on the upside - being on the go from 6am until 8pm every night means there's no opportunity for spending money. The car has had more liquid gold but other than that I haven't spent anything. So today is nsd 14 for me - which I am quite proud of to be honest.
I'll be back more over the weekend.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
 Ended up spending £77 on my weekly shop. I did buy enough loo roll and laundry stuff to last til Xmas (maybe into 2013) and a couple of bottles of our fave wine (on offer) to put away for xmas but still annoyed I gave into Hubby's requests (it's like shopping with a kid sometimes) Ended up buying in a crate of beer but only one bottle of wine as I got 3 bottles of Shloer for me instead of wine all weekend. He didn't seem to mind me budgetting when we short of money but now we've been paid, he just wanted to splurge on all sorts of junk. I gave into the beer as I'd refused loads of bits before then, didn't want a teeny tantrum from him :rotfl: I did buy a lot more smartprice or own brand food than normal though :T
No plans to spend this weekend though. Going to go a spot of batch-cooking tomorrow anddoing a car boot on Sunday.

Thanks for thinking about DD.
She seems to be feeling quite a bit better already. Hopefully it turns out to be just an infection, and draining it has cleared the worst out.
She certainly enjoyed putting away half the chocolate, and we are sitting comfortably watching Children in Need.I divorced my First Husband on Religious Grounds:A

Well well well....
Despite a few hiccups for some folks and some horrific work weeks there seems to be a general all round happiness on the NOvember thread.. I like this!!
In keeping with this theme may I say I have created the most delicious unhealthy meal out of my cupboards and I have suprised myself....quesadillas with broad bean humus spread all over it, tomato slices and melted cheese...
Broad been humus is literally the beans, juice from half a lemon, tons of dried dill, salt and pepper..although lots of pepper... mushed it with some greek yoghut and spooned it all over a tortilla,, then the tomato, then the grated cheese... then it was fried in a little oil...
I just had two... YUMMY!!! Not the most healthiest dinner ever but I am loving the idea of seeing my cupboards bare ready for the next shop!!!!
Abundant I LOVE rice cakes...with butter and honey and a cuppa!
SkintSue you have a happy brave little girl so whats a small treat now and then!!
His_Missus..persevere he will learn and get better! But well done on Shleor.. I LOVE it..
Polly you and me both! I have been able to whack so much towards my debt because of this.. I am eating better ( no snacking ) and am REALLY loving the challenge of getting as many free or near free things as possible..:T
Question..sensible soup with my leftover carrots or not so sensible carrot cake....?
I have an easy weekend ahead despite the overtime booked for Saturday night. Anyone would think I have no life...ahem...
Thats the way I like it, earning money and staying in! LOL!
Right this is a bit of a haphazard random post but I needed to check in and say HELLO!
Have a good evening as I am checking out now until tomorrow..

Claiming NSD number 14 :j
Feeling a little bit better over my payslip... I still won't be able to clear a full debt this month but oh well. I am going to try and do 2 weeks worth of shopping tomorrow so that (combined with partner) the shop comes to more than 40.00, this means I will get 4.00 off my shop
We usually withdraw the cash each week for the shop (20.00 each) however, we have a 123 credit card which earns you money for spending in supermarkets. So we are going to use this and pay it off same day so that 1. we can earn cashback and 2. we can transfer the sum to the exact penny so that anything left from the 40.00 can be sent to the 'debt repayment' account to help that build up- this probably makes no sense to read but makes sense to me :rotfl:
