Right maybe this little addition needs to be added into December's challenge... ***NSK rubs chinny chin chin in anticipation of penny collection ***
I used my change ( inordinate amount of 5p coins ) at the post office yesterday. Didn't have the heart to give her coppers at 5.15pm...lol!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Back from shopping. Spent £4.99 on a book for Hubby and £2 in the pound shop (pair of simpsons socks for DH and gingerbread mould) and £10 to the Avon lady. Also bought Hubby a Vue giftcard and Tshirt (both online) for a total of £21.95. There is something else he wants from Amazon but I'm due a £5 giftcard from swagbucks in a few days so I'll have enough credit to buy it for "free"
We put all our change (minus £1 coins) into a moneybox whenever we have any and are currently saving up for holiday next year.
I'm a bit daunted by a December challenge, may become a cheerleader for a month. Although if you're setting up a December challenge I'll at least give it a go!0 -

Ah, but I know what a tough task master you are! When we all successfully complete NOvember you'll be thinking "Hmm...I need to make the challenges more difficult!"
I came back to post something...oh yes, just checked some Mr A receipts and I've got 70p off and £5 off if I spend £40 (which I invariably do, can always stock up on cat food if I'm under £40) May treat us (that's me n Hubby not everyone on the thread!:D) to Mr A's pizza for tea on Saturday:p0 -

Hi everyone!!!
OMG - talk of December and January already!!! Gawd. I guess it has also been lurking at the edge of my mind too!!! Is good to see there is interest though...
Yesterday was spend day number 3 as went out for a meal. I was in one of those situations where the bill is totalled between the table and shared out and it comes to more than you ordered... I was good - I found my voice and said I was on a budget and I'd pay for my own!!! I noticed my mentality around eating out has changed too... I was thinking 'I could make this for less'... and 'that never cost that to make...' etc It was nice and enjoyable - but am going to be keeping them to a minimum... and shopping around for menu prices/deals etc.
I'd also been bought a presie from work colleagues and I plucked up the courage today to ask if I could return it... Was so hard - as I didn't want to appear ungrateful - but they'd spent £50 on a gift!!! Really generous - but I couldn't justify spending it on jewelery I might wear now and again... I realised I could only get a gift card if I returned myself (as was paid for by a card) and was going to sell it to a friend for £30 (for the inconvenience) and I thought NO! This is stupid. I took a deep breath and was honest, and said with my current financial state and goals I would really get a lot more from putting the money to a practical use - so to either buy me supermarket cards or get a cash refund... £50 is like 2.5 weeks shopping on this challenge for me!!! I got a text back and they said it was fine!!! I feel bad still but proud too... Am holding out and staying true to myself...I just hope they really do understand that I appreciate it - LOTS!
I managed to get back on track today, using up left over chilli!!! Today made NSD number 11 for me!!!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!
