Well good morning Chickadees.. in the spirit of all things free and easy a company called Durys Whiskey have set clues on twitter to locate bottles of whiskey that are hidden around London. In true treasure hunt style I think I know where one might be hidden.. my boss is seriously considering letting me out for the day to go and retrieve it... I am a tee-total NSK but love a challenge and I am ruthless when prizes are involved!

So I am back on the NSD bandwagon hopefully getting myself a fantastic #12 ( even if I do say so myself )..

Cranny44 and Searching_Me Since you are all interested I might start another thread for December.. this one will be hard given the season but I think we all need to clear up debts - make 'em all nicely well rounded in order to start the year... whatcha think about that eh?? Keep the names coming.. it might be emblazoned in lights and posted in the weekly email. Any OH that might have a good name will have his / her name plastered along side it...:)

So on the list we have...

    Die Hard December
    NO DEBTember..( quite cute )
    No Spender December
    Don't Dole out Dosh December

GelMC - I am after free cinema tickets .. do you ever get a choice as to what you see and when or are they always limited?

    MancMan ..
Girlfriend may also give me £500 towards clearing it in the next month or so as she promised to pay some of it back as well as it has funded mini breaks
This is only fair I think.. can't be paying for her all the time on credit. I am sure she understands! Put all those £2 in a wee jar that can only be opened if smashed with a hole big enough only to put the coins in.. there that's gonna make you save 'em...
Expecting Hubby to sulk tonight as we're having pasta for tea (with the sausage meatballs left over from last week) but we have no garlic bread in and we always have garlic bread with pasta - it's the law according to Hubby. No garlic or parsley either so can't even make home made
Kinda is the law... but he has to make do..:):)

Josiebabie - if you knew the hassle I had with my driving license etc.. you'd cry!! But well done you on having photocopies at all... very well planned there!!

I Will Win .. glad the meds are working!!
See NinjaKat is planning a January task, god help us all lol:rotfl:
However I think you love this challenged more than you are letting on and you can't wait to get drilled through December... ohhhh I think I have thought of a name...

Right.. off to think of some horrid things for us all to follow!!

    Morning all!

Planned my menu for nxt week last night and wrote my shopping list for Friday. Got 5 out 7 main meals in already so just need fresh stuff and catfood mostly. Hoping to stick to £40 max which will be difficult as it's payday on Friday and we usually splurge on payday weekend BUT I am adamant we're not going to this time.

Going to be a spend day for me as I need to pay the Avon lady (£10 for 3 mascaras though Hubby says he'll buy 2 off me to use as my stocking fillers!). Going to buy some stuff for Hubby's stocking from B00ts using my Ad card (not money spent as such, I know) a cookery book from the W0rks as a starting point for a cooking hamper for his pressie and buy a few Xmassy bits from the poundshop . Only taking out £20, not using cards (apart from to withdraw the money). Will order his main present from Amaz0n tonight then all my xmas spends are done in one day :)

ETA: Oh Kat, Hubby used some of his £5 lottery winnings to pop to M0rris0ns to buy a garlic bread to have with his pasta. I decided if he wanted to spend his money on a garlic bread then that was his choice :)

  • How about Dont Dole out Dosh December for the december challenge?:D

Yea I have ordered a tin from Amazon which holds upto £500 in £1 and £2 coins this is perfect for my challenge and will be kept at work as a reminder to put into it regularly. It can also only be opened with a tin opener - which we dont have at work.

Morning all I am off the naughty step now Siousie32 and Ninjasavingkat Although I have decided I am keeping the coat. I have been looking for a long length waterproof as I have given up my car and I am planning for all the walking over winter in the rain/snow I will have to do. I was going to wait til Jan sales but it is ideal and a bargain £20. This challenge has really made me think about spending any money on non essentials. I think i will challenge myself to make it back on Ebay.
I like the sound of a December challenge although it will be even more difficult. NSK I am going to try the broad bean pate thing I make humous a lot for lunch so that sounds like a nice change. I make a beany one too with mixed up beans and a little chilli. I think the idea was from cheap family meals blog. Anyway sorry for waffle back to work Love P0lly x

  • NinjaSavingKat - If you type in "money box" into amazon it is about 6th on the list. Was tempted to order two but thought better of it. I also chuck all my coppers into a money box which i was bought many years ago. I hate 2p's and 1p's they are horrible - but its money must already have about £30 in there - must check after the move this weekend.
