  • 2 Days to go!!!!
    ...

So let the count down continue!!!!

Many more have joined the ranks over the last few hours - this is FANTASTIC! I have yet to figure out my EXACT expenditure on the little things as I have to put my motorbike back in for some repairs on Thursday ( best to get it out of the way RIGHT at the beginning ).... I am adding "shoe heel repair" in there and might limit myself to flats ( dedication ) for the month to avoid having to repaid too many ( I think I have 4 that need done )....

It's amazing how challenges like this MAKE you look at exactly where each penny is going! I sat and combed through my current account on line and with a few bits here and there it came to around £300..???????

This is NOT good enough although this included a 30th birthday party ( £60 )... petrol to said party, a few beauty items, Boots stuff to make use of a deal ( although everything going on eBay due to change of heart regarding Christmas presents ) .. postage on some "free" items... it all adds up...

But in the next two days I will have this down flat - exactly what I am willing to spend and what I am not!!

I am on an £80 food budget so will be withdrawing 4 crisp £20 notes and keeping them at home. I intend to have 1 spend day a week to top up on essentials ( milk, fresh veg - although as I will be buying it reduced at Tesco's I might freeze some ) ..

However I want to hit at least 7 NSD's in a row from 1st - 7th in order to ensure my cupboards are CLEAR although I feel what I have will stretch beyond that!

So... keep those names coming, add yourself on and get your household signed up.... its gonna be fun figuring out where we can get "loose money" from....

    Onwards and Upwards fellow NOvemberites!!!!!

ok I am going to chat to OH tonight and get him on board for a frugal month! Our Credit cards will thank us for the over payment!!

We have 1 confirmed night out - for BIL's birthday...I have already bought the present - which I did in October..so thats covered.

Our store cupboards are full so we can eat quite a bit from home before needing to shop = I am also going to get my 'free' trial veg box - I know of two sites that are offering in London so that should really help us!!
Love reading the oldstyle board...always something to learn!
  • Thanks Kat :D
Two number 18s though - shall I take 20? That's usually an ok sort of number for me.

Rectified! Sorry I was getting a little excited...:D

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Have been looking through the cupboards and freezer this morning.
I have enough meals in the house to last 2 weeks (my freezer is fot to bursting, i literally cant get anything else in there).

My neighbours had a huge house fire last night, and lost everything. It's awful. My house filled with smoke (its a terrace), and as a result i have a black film over everything...especially the cupboards. So i had to clean them all out, and in the process i did an inventory of what was in there.

Its been a long night, and i have been up since 4.30am, so i am off for a nap in a bit :)
  • Hi

Can I sign up to please :) I have just put my name down to 25 NSD's (never aimed for such a high number before!) and other than my shop
(which I plan to spend £40.00) and the already planned day trip to alton towers, I don't plan to spend anything other than on bills/debts and petrol!

WOW! What an evening! I really hope everyone next door is ok. Glad you took stock of everything .. its amazing what can be found lurking in the back of the cupboards.. and the freezer goodies sound like they should be keeping you going for a while.

I hereby declare that you deserve a nap...:o.. Good on you!!!

Since you asked so nicely you are hereby marked and numbered. I am super envious of your food budget - that is tough! I take it you are just looking after you..?

Just had a very nasty shock indeed which is going to give me the kick that I need to join in this challenge after all.
My son was rushed into hospital at the beginning of this month, and needed an emergency operation. Although he was only out of action for a week, I took time off work. Unfortunately, as I'm a teacher, that time was unpaid leave, and I've just gotten my October payslip and I'm already £175 short before I even start.

I am also a teacher and have had to have time off when OH was taken ill but I didnt lose any pay........... assuming you are in the state sector, check with your LA. I am sure there are arrangements for such situations. Also check with you union
