Hi All,
I would love to join in, but I am not sure I qualify. I have an antivirus program bill for my pc to pay in November and also 1 trip to London (has been postponed sooo many times ). I already decided to cut down on food shopping (just days before this thread came along - I must've felt it in my bones :rotfl:) by £50 for Nov and like to join another challenge (NSD). No beauty stuff needed at all (I could stock a small Boots with what I have even when buying only a couple of items in the past 12 months). t&jDMP started 2/2007

Wow what a lot of people we have signed up, it is great to see how many of us are feeling the need to cut back and I think this thread is going to be very good at motivating me to watch exactly what I am spending.
I admit to buying a bag of crisps today, I can't have any more for the month so thought I would treat myself, ha haBeen here for a long time and don't often post

I am also a teacher and have had to have time off when OH was taken ill but I didnt lose any pay........... assuming you are in the state sector, check with your LA. I am sure there are arrangements for such situations. Also check with you union
Well I did accept that it would be unpaid leave at the time, and I assumed that the Head would use the money to pay supply to cover me while I was off. That didn't happen, but I don't really feel like I can challenge it as I'd said it was ok at the time. Luckily enough, I've just managed to get onto U1 on the pay scale and I have already checked with payroll - that's coming to me next payday just in time for Christmas and will be backdated to September. Plus in between I have exam marking which will all add to the pot.
I just have to be careful for the next 32 days. I'm actually quite excited by the prospect of having my most frugal month ever right before Christmas - although I may need reminding of that this time next month.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

I think that really means you need a slight push.. Would u like a number??“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I learned this lesson too... choose your battles I say. You seem to have your finger in a few pies which is what I am doing until the job I love comes along and pays me what I am worth.. until then, I'm knuckling under..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
