. Think it may just dominate our lives too much and November looks too crammed already. But will be carrying on with my own personal challenges and joining the cheerleaders on the side lines

I'm on board as a cheerleader for sure, although the more I look through the thread, the more I want to join in. Just can't see it working though - not this close to Christmas.Ninja Saving Turtle0

Ok. Sign me up.
Been gone from these boards far too long and financially it shows!
Will try to stick to £220 for groceries for November which is a bit of a drop from my usual spends. This is for me and 3 kids and sometimes the bf.
Will try to walk more and bring the petrol down too.
I have one weekend away but this I have the money saved for this, although hope to come in under and have some pennies leftover.
I will be buying a fair few christmas presents this month, but will try to keep it to one day spending only to make sure I can do those 25 NSD's:)
Bring it on!November NSD's - 70 -

I'll join in.
My food budget for the month is £150 for four people. I'm aiming for no spends this month OTHER than DD's which are ALL accounted for. Just last week I paid off my credit card and destroyed it along with my old Barclays account which just incurres overdraft fees needlessly. This is my first month with no credit cards and no fall back position. I'm entirely running on ready cash in the bank and nothing else.
I have £625 in a Co-Op account which is what I managed to save over the year for Christmas but honestly, I think I have Christmas pretty much covered already with bits throughout the year and what I intend to make. I will be buying some white beeswax this weekend so that I can get my Castille Soap batch on the go ready for presents in December.
If anyone is interested, I picked up a 3.3Kg pork joint from Tesco yesterday which was just £9.68 (on offer at the moment). I dont know whether the same thing is available all over the country, but if it is, that's the meat ration for the week for a family of 4 right there.
I have a cupboard of ingredients (I dont food shop as such) and so we have bread for the month, sugar, general flour, spices etc. I have enough meat for another 2 weeks and veg comes fresh weekly from the local farm. A batch of 24 banana muffins were cooked yesterday (with the black bananas the kids wont eat) and we have a coconut and lime cake from yesterday too.
Drinks arnt such a big problem. We brew beer and wine in the house, so it seems to have lost it's alure :-)
Good luck everyone. Mine goal is to finish this month with zero overdraft. It currently stands at £975 and needs to go.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
