Thanks for your thoughts/prayers etc about the job.
I had a call back about it, as i wasnt sure if i had enough experience to even apply for the role.
I spent this morning reading up about this new initiative that they are starting, and remembering the buzz words, and what working with the client base would entail. I am really glad i did that, as she asked me what i knew about working with that particular client base, and i was able to remember what the core conditions were :)

So, she said it doesnt matter that i dont have enough experience, as because its a new initiative, they will be more than happy to train me as i have my degree in psych :)

    In regards to the NSD.............

    I MADE IT!!!:j:j:j

So, this is my 6th NSD :)

Another NSD for me - 6/7 so far.
My wonderful friend came round with milk and a jar of coffee as she usually uses mine every day, so she claims it was her turn to chip in, so an expense I was budgeting for is no more. Brilliant.:j
I was also taken out to a support group for the afternoon, with free tea/coffee and biscuits, and brought home, so company and no spending for the afternoon.
I was even given a free paper so I can catch up on the news, and do the crossword tonight.

Can you become as obsessive about NOT spending as you used to be about going into town and buying SOMETHING/ANYTHING each time you were there, even if it was coffee and a cake, or some tat from a charity shop because it was cheap? :D

Hi all, am not in this challenge but posted a few days back to register as a cheerleader and also to share my ( rather diluted) version of this challenge. First of all, a huge well done to you all! I'm so impressed by how well you are all doing, and the techniques you are using to help yourselves and keep yourselves and others motivated. It's really great to read - and quite addictive!

Anyway, wanted to share this with someone. I start my new week's envelope every Thursday, and am often running on money fumes by Wednesday. However....(drum roll.....) today I have £15.60 left in my purse from this week's envelope!! Yaay, me! That will either go straight into my Secret Sock, or I will delay opening the next envelope for as long as I can. Tomorrow should be a NSD anyway, and Friday I am off work, so housework + library; but Market for fruit and 99p shop for polish and dog treats. Won't spend £15.60, though!!

Am stupidly pleased with myself about this. It's not a banker's bonus, I know - but I bet it means more to me!!

Rooting for you all. Have a good evening.

  • Hi everyone. Another lurker here - only since just now though when I spotted the thread on the weekly email.

I'd love to have taken part in this, but too late to begin I guess. I also think November is too hard for me as I'm doing a lot of my Christmas shopping this month, although admittedly this is planned for and budgetted for.

However, thought I'd share that so far I've had 4 NSDs and the others have been limited to: weekly shop (about £8 as I had plenty in the freezer and cupboards), petrol, birthday pressy for my OH, and parking for a meeting I had to go to at work (although I'll claim that back next month so maybe that's neutral). I've also spent my usual £40 per month for my cheerleading subs with my team. Not bad I don't think.

One massive success for me so far this month - I had got soup for lunch, but had to eat at a meeting (Grrrrr... lunchtime meetings need banning!), so needed a last minute sandwich. Thought I had no fillings (ham, cheese etc.) but then remembered the jar of peanut butter and jar of marmite in the cupboard I usually just have on toast and hey presto! No bought sandwich for me! Sadly this is a bit of an achievement!

I'll be a cheerleader (literally!) for the rest of you, and will certainly think more about what I spend this month now I'm following this thread! Keep up the good work! (Oh, and I'm planning to eBay some stuff too - I just need to find a second. Christmas makes already taking up my time!).

Aww missy, sorry things are hard at the moment. You are doing really well though, with 4NSDs, so give yourself a great big pat on the back, and feel free to PM me if you need a chat.
Its horrible knowing that you are always the person that people offload on, yet nobody would do the same for you. Sending you loads of hugs.x.
