You know you are hard core when your heating is off in NOvember....ahem...Searching_Me...great 5 NSD's however OH buying me things thinking I am missing out would wind me up! You are saving - people seem to think you are depriving yourself of things if you go hardcore..tell him to wind it in and give you a long back massage instead......**wink wink**

im not depriving myself i know that and if OH buys me them when i get myself back on track or he stops buying them i'll buy them myself i know myself too well ... not only that but he needs to take control of his finances so i dont want him saying well im spending all my money on you ... i used to be a very independent woman (yes you can sing the song :rotfl:) and ive got in to his spending habits so couldnt afford stuff so ending up lending of him then got in to a cycle ... now he used to get upset when i said i dont want your help because to him buying things is showing love (i blame his mother) but now he understand i want to do things myself because its how i keep control of myself and my spending habits ... so we talked last night after here and agreed that on days out iif something is worth it he can or at the end of the month he can buy me a bottle of wine ... hey you never know might retain him too :D ..

working 10-8 today and got everything i need so no need to buy anything so going for 6th NSD ... i might not check in tonight depending on how tired i am but i tell you im not buying anything till saturday :D x
    :)Still searching .....:)

That's all I was really aiming for in life! It has been recognized by the MSE team so SAVE MONEY HERE!!! :T:T:T
Fame and saving a fortune, well done!
Kiwisaver - that's a good meal! I had a colleague think I was weird because I had peshwari naans with lentil dahl soup! I can see where people can waste money on food by trying to ensure they have everything right - my meal was lovely. How was yours... we are on the ball though using our scraps.. its the way to go!!

It was good for me, not sure the bloke was quite so keen. :rotfl:

Will have to get a masher on my next spend day (unless anyone can suggest a way to mash potatoes without one??). so I may have to look into that!

I have done them with just a fork in the past, or give them a quick blast with the electric mixer.

I clocked up day 5 also, so am well chuffed with that already. The first week is almost over and just one more day to keep my purse closed before spendy Friday. I got a $20 gift card reward in the post today for surveys that I applied for ages ago and had forgotten all about. :T

    Start January 2017: $268,012
    Latest balance $266,734

Siouxsie32 - next time, you could just slice the potato on top instead of mash, therefore making a type of hotpot instead of pie :)

Morning all :D not been around much, i've been flued up, but i am starting to feel a bit better :)

Wow day 7 already and your all doing great :T
Great to see you made the MSE email, recognition truelly deserved :money:

Although im not a contender in this challenge, it is making me think along the same lines, and i love reading how your all getting on.

Just back from Tescos, with £18.08 worth of shopping which with various coupons and freebies actually only cost me 62p :T

Mars are doing a win a free bar comp, 1 in 6 packs are winners and the coupons are printed inside the wrappers, so instant win...well if anyone likes BOUNTY bars i can confirm that if you look at the pack, if you can see faint stripes on the N of bounty its a winner :rotfl: the bar code inside shows very faintly....shhhhhh dont tell Mars i've had 6 free bars so far this week :D

NSK, i do hope you'll consider turning NOvember challenge it to a permament monthly challenge ?

Have a great day, best of luck those heading into NSD #7

Sorry Kat, I've not been able to report in, just way to busy and really sleep deprived at the moment. I literally have no time to report.
Doesn't mean I've not been on the wagon though. I am pleased to report another nsd for Monday.
However we did have an unplanned, unbudgeted spend yesterday although I really couldn't leave it. My poor dd came home with nits, and I had to buy, shampoo, conditioner and combs to get it sorted asap. Sorry Kat, but I really hope you understand... I was combing her hair at half ten last night destroying the little blighters (making me itch just thinking about it).
I'm at work till 7 tonight and dd is stuck here with me, we don't have food, but I did know about this and had the money put aside.

:naughty: Don't do it. If you don't need it, don't buy it. Leave your purse at home. Do not be tempted by catalogues that may fall through the letterbox or emails offering deals. Oh, and if I were you, I'd hide from Kat or she's gonna ninja kick your ... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You can't prevent emergencies happening. Working towards as many NSDs is great but health comes first. Nits, urgh! Used to work in a school that seemed to be rife with them almost all of the time. If you've managed to kill the crawlies, try covering your dd's hair with any conditioner and combing with the nit comb every day for a week, it's supposed to work for getting rid of all the eggs and any crawlies that may hatch. Oh and don't forget to treat everyone else in your home xxx
  • Siouxsie32 - I got all excited by the Ojon offer on Martin's email til I realised it's only on Thursday and I'll be at work all day :( Never mind, I have enough shampoo to take me through til December so I don't need it - I do love a posh freebie though
I was thinking about doing this but my bottles of Tresemme are 900ml. They will last longer and it would mean buying a small few bottles to get these.. then driving somewhere to find them....not going to bother with this one.. and it will ruin my impending NSD long run!
Searching_Me -..... hey you never know might retrain him too

This is what we like to hear, passing on the wisdom!
Kiwisaver - I clocked up day 5 also, I got a $20 gift card reward in the post today for surveys that I applied for ages ago and had forgotten all about.
Ooooooooooooh well done on clocking 5! And even more so on the gift card!!!

HOW???? With vouchers you have printed or what Tesco sent you?
Wanna be in Credit - My poor dd came home with nits, and I had to buy, shampoo, conditioner and combs to get it sorted asap.
    Completely, totally and utterly understandable....

Thanks his missus and NSK, knew i was going to get a kick up the bum, and rightly so!
Went to the library and borrowed some books...flt like i was 'buying' something, but wasnt :) That settled THAT! Dont want to spend now!

Need to do an online food shop today, for Friday, but didnt want to do it when i was in 'spend mood', so will do that in a bit instead.

Have enquired about a brilliant job, which i would desperately love to get, working within the NHS, so please all keep your fingers crossed/pray/send out good vibes, for me, as i'd LOVE to get it but dont have much experience in that area. Its a darn good wage too, which helps!
So i am going to be looking into that subject area in great detail over the next few days, so i am prepared if i get called to interview or if they call me about it.
