Hi everyone, just popping in quickly to declare a spend day today, I had planned to do some grocery shopping, total came to £40 so only £160 left for the month :) I spent all afternoon cooking for the freezer, so a huge batch of spag bol and a massive beef and red wine stew, all will be frozen once cold, and then tomorrow I am going to be making Chicken curry and Chilli, that should keep my son going for the rest of the month, as he takes lunches/dinner with him, this works out so much cheaper and he does not get full on a sandwich, so I at least know he has had one good meal inside him.

I was a bit poorly yesterday with a migraine and forgot to take my lunch to work, so had to pop to the shop for a sandwich, I was a bit angry with myself as the sandwich I had made was sitting on the bench ready to take, but because my head was not right, I walked straight past it on the way out to work grrr

So 2 of my days are spent already and it is only the 3rd of the month, this does not bode well, but I am determined to rectify things and not spend at all this coming week...

It is good to see lots of NSDs from everyone else, keep up the good work.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post

Evening fellow NOvemberites, great stories :D Everyone's doing really well!

Missy V, sorry to hear about your grandad :( Hope everything is ok?

NSD number 3 for me :) In fact, I pulled on an old hoodie this morning and a £1 coin rolled onto the floor :D Then, I cashed in my spare Oyster card and got £6.20 back :D So I ended the day £7.20 up :T:T

Had to walk past 7 (yes count them....7!) coffee shops of the red cup, Gingerbread Latte variety in Central London today - my toughest test yet! I just kept thinking "I'll get Kat's bold letter treatment if I give in" :rotfl: Strangely, it worked! Nil caffeine, nil spends :T

Also got FIL birthday pressie today £8.00 on Mr Ts posh xmas nuts :D

Went out with Big sis today so in their car, mooched a few shops, didnt buy anything - but sis bought me a choccie bar and hubby bought fish and chips from his spare spends, and he also bought a glue gun on offer in B and Q £16.98 with quidco cash back which was £29.18.

Wowwee just checked my reciept from Mr T and 20 of my 51 items were reduced on stickers and a further 9 were on general store reduction :)

Hi everyone, a bit of a late one from me! I've finally had my
first NSD!!!!!! Going for a second one tomorrow!

Spent the morning at the gym and then had a quiet afternoon marking essays. Also sent off a cheque for £54 to add to my savings. It's what I had left over from paying off a credit card. At my friend's now and she kindly fed me tonight.

Tomorrow I'm gonna finish the set of essays I began marking today then batch cook some chicken curry and some mushroom soup to stockpile in the freezer.

Need to come up with some more ideas for making extra little bits of income. Still got to put my free view box on eBay but any other suggestions will be gratefully received fellow just say NOvemberists.

  • Morning all
As suspected, yesterday turned out to be my second nsd of the month.
Went to my mum's and she'd made the most yummy dinner for us all. It's always nice to get together and have a catch up. AND, my sister and her boyfriend have gotten engaged. I'm so pleased for them (although I did think it may just be a matter of time after my wedding) - it'll be lovely to have another wedding to help plan though, so I do hope she'll come to me for advice.
Last night was one of my planned nights out and I'd already taken the money out for it Friday, so not counting it. I took the kids to a Halloween party and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I had £20 and brought £4.50 back home - including hot dogs, cake and drinks for all of us, plus prizes that the kids won. Lovely.
This morning I've just cooked up a fry up (well all grilled) for me and the kids for breakfast. Hubby has missed out because he's still in bed. Sunday is our family day and it's our son's turn to choose what to do. He wants to go to Frankie and Benny's but I've told him that unless he can get daddy to pay then we'll be going for a Bear Grylls walk in the local nature reserve with some mouldy bread to feed the ducks.
So far so good - hoping for another nsd today.

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Was really tempted to go and buy chocolate last night, but the wine was my treat instead.
Looking forward to today being my 3rd NSD :)

    Still very good:)

Planning on NSD number 4 today. Have really enjoyed the half term break, not done much but the kids all have full schedule during term time so the rest is appreciated.

Lamb in slow cooker was a great success. There is enough for a couple of days, will be having it tonight with couscous.

Back to normal tomorrow. The surveyor from our housing association is coming round as we have a leak in the roof which is causing problems so needs to be sorted.

Apart from that appointment, I will be at home all day hopefully having another NSD while I do last minute revision for my exam on Tuesday. I am quietly confident that I shall pass as have been getting over 93% in all my test papers so far.

Have a list of everything I need to spend on Tuesday, and a small (hopefully) grocery list:D

Have a lovely Sunday everyone x

Going to have to have a spend day today :( as the milk has a bit of a sniff and not worth risking. I might be a NSD convert, but not fanatical enough to risk the family's health.
I'm just going to do the planned shop a day earlier. Bread for butties and yoghurts for OH's lunch at work instead of the canteen, even though it's subsidized. Also the milk and maybe the halfprice cordial to make tap water a bit more fun.
