Well a very good evening to you all!!!
You have no idea how it warms my cockles reading about how you are all getting along. This is such a superb achievement for you all - 3 NSD's!!!
Now, I am so impressed by you all I have decided not to go out for my £6 firework display! How can I, mother hen, trip the light fantastic knowing full well that my chickadees are all making sacrifices with their families. SO.. having been with a girlfriend all day and having been fed to within an inch of my life I have come home to sort a few things ( relist on eBay ), grab some bits from an old AP order then head back to hers for pizza and a film..
ANOTHER NSD FOR NINJA!!!..one must set an example you see - and my eBay invoice is the same amount. One can't be wasteful!!
So I saw a mention of Tesco vouchers on one post.. having complained to them last time and telling them I didn't receive any vouchers I have been sent "£4 worth of clubcard vouchers and £13 worth of money-saving coupons"..not bad eh?.. So I intend to get hold of some vouchers elsewhere and possible have a free shop for basics next week!
Abundant - well done for buying no more books. I have a book fetish.. it has ended now that I realised that I was not reading them all and running out of space!! You have a week off work coming up soon don't you...?
I Will Win - yeah for stealing sweets off small children - money saving to the extreme that is!!!:rotfl:
WantToBeSE - it amazes me sometimes what people spend on food for the family! But hey you got free wine - although I hope you put up a little protest as to your plight....( and who's your friend in that picture ...:p)
Candy - make sure you don't eat prior to a massively scary ride. If you lose that pre-packed lunch on someone's head you ain't allowed to buy anything...( kidding )...
MissyV... really hope Grandpappy gets better.. if its only travel I think you will be ok. Your face will cheer him up no end... hope the day is okay for you!!
SkintSue - your post made me smile so much I gave my phone to a friend to read your post! What an amazing day - and the OH is involved as well! This is superb!! And you saved pennies by planning ahead - so cool! I also love the fact that OH and DD have "quality time" this is very nice to read... keep up the money saving / eBay sales...
Forgiveness required from those I have not commented on. I get buzzed every time there is a post and love reading what is going on through out the day!
So please please keep posting your highs and woes - we are here to support!!
Katie_Pixie is probably getting licked to death by the pooches as we speak...
IContinuetodream - don't beat yourself up regarding the smoking.. it will take time to give up completely.. you have it in your head to quit and it WILL happen....
I am in my pyjamas and will put my biking clothes over the top to get to my friends house.. you know you have good friends when a married couple invite you for movies and pizza at their house and you know they won't care if you turn up in your matching tartan jammies.....ahhhhhhhhhh the good life!!
Right over and out until later tonight. I am marking this up as an NSD and hope more will join us as the night progresses...

Lol love that Kat, I live in my PJ's, though I'm pretty confident I've never ridden my motorbike in them though!!!!
Declaring NSD number 3! AND mum and I have just been to Ikea and I didn't take my purse! She even offered to go to the cafe and treat me to tea and cake but I declined as its a mind-set I'm trying to change as much as anything...that 'ohh I'll just pop in here for a cuppa and cake' £10 later!!!
Spend day for me tomorrow though as gotta grocery shop :-)Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
I am signing off for the night now. My and my little one (ok, not so little, he is 8) are having a wii night, playing games and trying desperately to get my 12 year old to join in with us
Love my babies, even if they are all grown up.0 -
Evening all!
Today was one of my planned spend days.
£3 for my hair cutting
£2.30 on litter liners at Wilkos
£2.60 takeaway pies for lunch (Hubby was hungry and I was not taking him to Asda hungry!)
£42 in Asda - £2 more than I anticipated but we'd decided we were going to stay in tonight so we bought some wine. This took us to over £40 so I could use £5 off voucher. Also spent almost £10 on catfood (will feed all 4 for the week and needed biccies as well as meat this week) and £6 on 2 small gammon joints which will feed us for 4 roast meals and at least 8 butty lunches with bits left for pasta sauce, pizza or soup.
Mad cooking session this afternoon - made banana cake (10 portions frozen for lunches) with bananas left over from fruit box at work, 2 minced meat pies (smart price mince) and 6 portions of leek n tata soup (tomorrow's lunch and 4 for work) as well as the gammon joints.
Games night and a couple bottles of wine tonight (£7.98) cheaper than going to the bonfire which would end up with us buying drinks and food.
Am pleased with my shopping totals today (maybe not as ruthless as some of you are being) I bought at least one brand down unless branded was cheaper if on offer apart from for the cats.
Sorry, I'm waffling now, just wanted to get all my spends down on "paper"
Oh dad gave me 2 old mobiles (so old mazuma wouldn't pay out on one, hee hee!) and some toys my neices have grown out of to car boot in a few weeks. Should make a few bob at the carboot though.
Well done to all of you on NSD #3, keep up the good work xx0 -

I have spent money today and yesterday but both were planned and both were less than expected. Am hoping for a nsd for tomorrow.
Well done everyone on your nsds.0 -
I have never joined a challenge before but like the idea of this one. Today has been an NSD and I hope that I can do nothing but budgeted spends this month, as I am taking out £150 each week in cash and that has to do us for everything (food, petrol, train tickets), because of large credit card bills - I pay off in full each month, and do realise how lucky I am to be able to do that - due before payday and the need to put oil in the tank.:eek:At last have joined an oil buying club and got a semi-decent price (57ppl + VAT).
I made a start last week by: meal planning/switching to 0v0 1 yr fix from e0n and getting cash back as well as est £100 less over the year/phoning BT and cutting phone and internet package from £24 pm to £18pm. Have also listed 22 (count 'em) things on ebay today as it's free listing - it took the WHOLE morning.
So if I can avoid spending except the cash, will end the month with a few pounds in hand and nothing on a card.....and may be some winter sun will be a possibility.
Good luck to all the other brave souls out there! Fish pie (whoopsied Viet cobbler) calls.0 -
WinterSunSeeker... As per your wishes u have been marked and numbered..please pledge your NSD's on the other thread and may I say a very big WELCOME!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. NSD number 3!! ... annnndddddd did my car insurance and it came in £6 cheaper and the outgoings per month have massively changed i have been paying £266 per month for the last year (trust me i spent 8 hours last year searching for a cheap insurer but it was my first year and my car is 14 years old bless her) .. to £74 per month
!!!!!!! ...
but im not going to waste the £6 less on the deposit it goes toward the shopping tomorrow for essensitials for food and bleach as i didnt realise id ran out .. that also pays for the arts and crafts entertainment for fireworks things tomorrow...
and even better news put £10 of liquid gold in the car today (planned) and shockingly its filled her more then i thought so can squeeze a few more miles out of her ..
OH got paid today so treated me to a bottle of diet coke and 66p reduced yellow sticker strawberries (slowly trainning him) since of how much im sticking to this ..
quite enjoying this so far .. oooooo not had a fag in 36hoursx
Still searching .....:)
