Well now.. 1 fiction book per day off. Those astrology ones should get good money on Amazon.. people are really into that nowadays.. work books - should you keep them..?

First spend day of the month and still didnt spend the full £23 i had :D ... got everything I wanted/needed and the kids art and crafts stuff for the grand sum of £15.29 :D well chuffed and taught DD some money saving as well was very proud ...

spent the afternoon making firework paintings (still drying :D) cupcakes then had hotdogs (i forgot hotdog buns but i had wraps so she said to use them to save money told you i was proud) and watched a tinkerbell movie was so good :) plus major brownie point ... oooo oooo ooo and we forgot to do the sparklers and my DD didnt even notice so thats entertainment for tomorrow :D:D:D ...

im having NSD tomorrow by hook or by crook i dont expect to spend anything till saturday if im honest .. ive got a chicken in the freezer for tomorrows dinner so i can probably stretch that out for a couple of meals and got random stuff in the cupboard so going to make for some interesting dinners :D ...

i get paid friday so thats gonna be the real test ... am i going to be good once theres real money in the bank x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • Searching_Me.. I love this excitement! You clearly had a wicked day and score 1 for mummy not mentioning sparklers. To be perfectly honest they still amuse me and I am 29 years old. I was gutted not to be seeing fireworks last night but might be able to sneak in a free show tomorrow night. Your fooding arrangments are brilliant so well done you! :T:T:T
How did DD respond to the money saving tips? I hope she wrote them down. Trust me now - whatever you are teaching her about money now will be how she deals with her life once she is indepndant. There is nothing better parents could do than to teach their kids the important of money, where it goes and how to "shop" around..

    Well done you!!! :p:p:p

Had a spend day yesterday as the fruit and veg needed topping up, but had NSD number 3 today. Made bread, had HM Chinese for tea and the next two nights we'll have leftovers from Fri and Sat.
Sold the first two book on Amazon (and someone said fiction paperbacks don't sell, although I had my doubts) so I am in the process of listing another 30. Might only sell a few. But everything helps.

Read the thread by little miss uni and thinking of more ways to make money over the next weeks.

    Evening All :D
I have been making plans today, for earning some extra cash, thanks to the '100 ways to make £80' thread (i think thats what it was called):

-List my Laura Ashley coat- won for £3 on ebay a few weeks ago, reckon i could sell it on for a profit (fingers crossed)
-Sell my old uni text books on Fat brain or green metropolis (whichever gives more money for them)
-Sell a girls bike that i bought a few months back, i was going to spray paint it red,, for my younger son, but then my older son outgrew his bike and my younger son will be the right size for it
-Contact Capital One to get PPI back. I am not sure how i do this, so will have to read the main site on here to work it out.

That should bring in a little bit of extra money :)
  • I'm such a proud mother hen... I'm nearly shedding a tear with all this money saving going on. And the little ones are getting involved as well....*** sob sob ***

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Spend day for me today as planned, did my shop in Lidls and Mr T's saving £1.03 on Mr T's alone. Doesn't sound like much but as it was just bread, milk, soya milk, beans, fish fingers and CHOCOLATE I was chuffed. So shop was £7.47, saving £2.53 on my £10 weekly budget (cupboards stocked already in October)

Also had a fireworks do tonight which I took a sandwich and flask of tea for me and some dairy free sweets for DD. So of my budgeted £15 I spent £7.40 on entry, a glow stick for DD and a squash for DD. :-)

Very happy with my savings! :-)
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
