Does anyone mind if i post photos on this thread? It'll only be yummy food ones, or any other money saving stuff.
I post lots of food on my DFD, and will happily keep them on there if you would rather, but thought i'd ask :)

Sell them via Amazon Trade-In. You are effectively selling them to Amazon and they are giving you free postage. 22 books got me £43.48. The same goes for FatBrain.co.uk.

Thanks, I'll try that, only have to list them all again as I don't see a link to my seller's account.

It also says books shouldn't have a marked spin, but if they have been read it will be marked if only slightly greased, no?

Another problem I have is that my books are different editions then in the trade-in store, hence they have a different cover and won't be accepted, boohiss. I'll go through them and at least try to find the ones that match

Nah, give up only one book matched and no luck on FatBrain either as they are not currently buying my book titles. Charity shop it is then.

  • Thrifty - most of mine were almost never used ( ....ahem....) and they did send one back that was ever so slightly marked / scuffed.. you can always try. They send them back for free.

WanttobeSE - I might ask that photos are kept to an absolute minimum as they will inevitably make the thread longer and I would still appreciate newbies reading through without getting worried by many pages....HOWEVER if you have created something wondrous from the most horrific or weird ingredients we would like to see it please!!! Thank you for asking though...

Thats fine, Kat, thought i'd ask as sometimes they can make the thread hard to load too. I'll keep them to my DFD instead :)
  • Hi All,

After 4 NSD, No 5 is a spend day,£16.70 of my £90 month budget, but I reckon after buying what I did today,Some cracking deals, yellow stickers etc, I could possibly spend a lot less in total this month.I am setting myself a personal challenge in this already great task,I am setting myself up for a fall but here goes........
    I am going for a £40 budget instead of £90. :D:D:D
    There said it,lol.
Can I run this bye everyone,my new tactic in buying less....

I have been doing a lot of things since the 1st, was in supermarket today with a new idea to resist temptation,Picked up 4 Toffee crisps for a £1,walked into next isle when out of sight of sweets, looked at them again in the basket, said do they really look that good and do I really want them?? They are now sitting on top of the Heinz soups:rotfl:. Once i got to the last isle, i looked over the basket and took 3 items out that I didnt actually need, and then replaced 2 items down a brand, I worked out I saved £4.20 by doing this. I walked out the store with a massive grin on my face:D:D.
I have got up each morning and read the news online before going out, helping me to stop buying a newspaper, have bought one for years aswell, 5 days without one has already saved me £2.25.

  • I Will Win - WOWEEEEEE! Now this is what I call a challenge! I do the same with the SM though. I go about, really think about whether I need something, then take it out before I get to the tills. Its sometimes enough just to have it in my basket for all of 5 minutes..

Hmmmmmmmmmm toffee crisp! A colleague just bought me crunchie. Gonna save it until I am in desperate need for something yummy...

I like this approach .. you will definitely win with this attitude!!!

  • Ninjasavingkat,, Your totally correct,It sometimes just needs to be in the basket for 5 mins lol, I actually thought that today hehehe.

Thanks for the e mail yesterday, really gave me another boost.

I have just had the postman here and have just got a cheque for £54.25 from house insurance as part of an interim payment towards my claim, was a victim of a shed break in weeks ago. Going a walk to the bank right now,get it cashed then onto the barclays c/c.
    Really getting into this.
    Have great day everyone.:j:j:j

Got over my failure of not making money from my books by getting some cashback for netflix and lovefilm (only using the trial so won't spend a penny but will make about £20 in cashback i think). See how good they are (heard diff opinions) and might keep one for the holiday season (which would be a December spend). Got the lurgy so that should def keep me off the fags too. Just the thought of having one right now, eugh.

Well done on the slashed budget I will win

  • WEll well well well......

My silly bank reduced my overdraft twice at the beginning of this month to the tune of £700. I did wonder why I was so low on funds. I hate working out how the overdraft etc should look on my account and can't wait to get rid. I am not going to ask them to return this money as I believe I do not need it now.

It means my last payment to the overdraft will be about £365 as I have one dopey standing order that goes out around the 24th that still needs to be covered and due to their error I have gone over the overdraft by £47. ( I know I won't get charged which is good ).. Round this up to a clean £365 and I will advise them to take it all back in one full swoop come the 1st December.

They might get something simple like that correct! I could make a joke here about the Irish but since I am one of them......anyway moving on...

SO this is a sign. It has been added to my signature. Only around £3200 to go until the end of the year.... huuuumppphh!
