Firstly I need to check on a few people
Sholly.. ahem.... any free wine left? As a tee-total vegetarian I am a thrill a minute but have a 900ml bottle of Grapetiser x 3 in my cupboards from AP that I refuse to open unless its an entertaining day cause I am a self-confessed super restrained ruthless money saver - which is killing me really CAUSE I LOVE FIZZ... have you drunk it?
If I am good I could get away with not buying a drink at all. I am determined that this has to be an NSD.

    Hi NSK,

Thanks for checking up on me!!

Yes, lots of free wine left! Come, help yourself! I don't really drink at home (can I say such terrible things on here!?) but I do enjoy wine on special occasions it so will save it for later in the month when NOvember blues kick in!

Day 1 was easy peesy - after scouring the cupboards last night, we had homemade pizzas, I was very proud of how they turned out! They were a hit with everyone so I'm going to make a few bases over the weekend and freeze them. Day 2 should be easy too, I'm just staying away from the shops!!

Could you just have a glass of water tonight, the free stuff! Ask for it in a small spirit glass and they'll never know!

    Hope you're well,

    Sholly x

    Good morning everyone :)

Today is my official food shopping day, so it wont be a NSD for me. Gutted!!! But on the positive side, the food shop came to much less than it normally would have done. I'll keep a running total in my sig, and will update it this morning.

Will be paying £84 to my car ins this morning too, which is £16 less than i had budgetted for, so i am pleased with that!

    .

Don't fret about the lack of NSD - there has to be some in there somewhere!... but a superb well done on the food shop! Loving your posts ..keep 'em coming.. my snooze was just too good although i stupidly left the window open for The Mog to poke her nose out and didn't close it.. come 0500 and "wakey-up-time" I was not happy..

However it was short-lived.. tea saw to that!

  • Sholly - I think keeping your wine is a good idea. I think there is chance of severe crash and burn across the thread come the 2nd - 3rd week and its great to have something to look forward to. I will save my fizz then as well..

I have a pepsi max in my bag and am willing myself not to drink it.. might smuggle it in. My colleagues are fine - its getting booted out by the staff I am more concerned by...

ThriftyLass - I have had slice 1 of 2 of my home made bread.. I can't stop eating at work. No excuse just a bit of a piglet.. thankfully hasn't taken its toll on my figure just yet...........( she says with cupcake beside her..home made by the way ).......

Just updated signature to reflect a £4.62 spend at Tesc0.
Have told the kids that their sweetie day is moving from a Sunday to a Friday (so that Sunday is a NSD) and they were really pleased, as it means sweets today!

So i also decided not to have my Friday night bottle of wine (£7), and got some sparkling water (17p) instead, to mix with OJ :)

ooh, I like this money saving idea, may try this over the weekend, much cheaper than wine.:D

NinjaKat - what have you done to my internet? For some reason the sites you can buy from won't load but all the others do....I was only looking, honestly :rotfl:

Also have hot water kitties, 3 in fact that slouch on me whilst I sleep, makes getting out of bed VERY difficult on these cold mornings

Did a menu and shopping list for groceries next week - looks like I'll only have to spend £30 WITH catfood :T and it's only that much as my freeezer seems to be full mainly with sausages and I can't eat just sausages all week. I have planned tough to use some to make meatballs with pasta, sausage casserole and bandgers n mash next week.
  • WanttobeSE - brilliant replacement there! Thats a whopping great £6.83 saved.. Well done! Even better that you have a sweets day for the sproglets and they are happy!!

His_Missus....as for your internet the universe is with you and helping where we sometimes have difficulties...( ask Heffi1 about avoiding Quidco..:)) but I may have added some subliminal "only allow essentials" tracking on your ISD number and flick a switch now and then...

  • Heading for NSD 2. Picking up a Xmas pressie later but it was budget for and the money has been sat on the side since 31st October. Hoping to sell some stuff today as have car repairs later in month and wondering if i can offset that and claim a NSD fir then? Seriously spending my waking hours plotting my budget to reduce temptation and increase NSD potential. How sad is that???x

Not sad at all, as i am doing the same!! Maybe we are just as sad as each other :rotfl:. I would really love to only have 4 'spend days' this month- but we'll see how it goes.
Havent even logged onto hukd, or looked at the grabbit board in fear of finding something that i cant possibly live without :D
  • Yesterday was a spend day as it was always going to be but my £33.93 Mr A. bill was reduced down to £21.29 by using various MOC and freebie coupons so I was pleased with that. I also met some friends for lunch and spent £5.25. I don't do that very often so that was a treat.

So today is a NSD, not doing anything or going anywhere and don't need anything so it's all good. 9 NSD's to go! If I manage more it'll be a bonus.

I have worked out that my NSD's are going to include supermarket/general shops shopping (I am quite addicted) and anything bought online. Christmas shopping, Direct Debits and petrol don't count but everything else does!

    Good luck everyone!
Hi, my name's Katy and I'm a (former) spendaholic!

  • :pWell I've just landed my first of the 5 spendy days I'm allowed this month. DD and I have just arrived home from a mammoth trip to Ald! - I spent £46.10 there and a further £30 for liquid gold for the car (as I was already spending).
DD and I played 'add up the total of the shopping on the way round' game to get under £50, and I think we're done for the majority of the month to be completely honest.
Then we got home and played the 'let's write a list of everything in the fridge, freezer and cupboards' game. And we've planned meals for pretty much the next fortnight with everything that we've got. We are stacked out with food so hopefully we should only need bread and milk short term (not enough room in the freezer to freeze them too).
DD asked to go for ice cream at the most lovely parlour on the sea front so we went there too (she paid with her pocket money and I had nothing, bless her).
So, for dinner tonight - we have turkey stir fry Thai style.
