  • Morning all,

Couldn't get back online last night to report in as I seem to be at least third in the queue for getting on the laptop most nights and I was just too tired.
Well I am pleased to report that day 1 went well and I bagged my first nsd of the challenge - only 24 more to go eh? I haven't decided if I'm doing my shopping today or tomorrow but I do know that it's a small list and I'm going to be doing it in Ald!. Saturday is normally my shopping day but I've been off work this week, and am due to visit my mum tomorrow so it might be worth getting it out of the way today.
My freezer and cupboards are already overflowing with food, it's just deciding what to do with it all that's the problem for me (no imagination).
So my last day off work, and what am I doing? Nothing requiring spends that's for sure - maybe a walk...

Aldi and Lidl are my best friends. I absolutely love them. The pizza at Lidl is superb ( albeit with a little extra cheddar on top ).. well done you!

    :grinheart:grinheart:grinheartGOOD MORNING!!!! :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart

Just so we can celebrate a wondrous start to NOvember and the fact that we are up to 46 contenders I thought a little color injected would brighten the day!!

Well its FRIDAY!! That's got to be the best reason to be happy! But I am mighty impressed with how much attention this thread has got and how willing people are to join the madness. This brings a little tear to my eye....:p

Firstly I need to check on a few people, now don't be upset if I don't come back to you in particular this time but I will be checking up on all of you throughout the month. I have your names in my "savings book" - a no frills ( easily distracted you see ) hard back notebook where all my money making ideas enters, mulls and gets churned out with muchos gusto and re-invention. You are basically in a book of fame right here....

SkintSue - whats in the slow cooker today? How is it working for your fooding...?

Sholly.. ahem.... any free wine left? As a tee-total vegetarian I am a thrill a minute but have a 900ml bottle of Grapetiser x 3 in my cupboards from AP that I refuse to open unless its an entertaining day cause I am a self-confessed super restrained ruthless money saver - which is killing me really CAUSE I LOVE FIZZ... have you drunk it?

GelMC - I am sorry that I over looked one little detail in one of your posts...ahem.....speed awareness course? In the long run £75 is better than points ( you didn't get points did you - am not sure how it works )... I am guilty of accelerating when I shouldn't sometimes which has worn my breaks down so much my mechanic always asks me if I want them replaced when I go in. I have begun to embrace and love speed limits - they are my money-saving friend ( despite the legal thing )... I save petrol, brake pads, speed ticket possibility ( scared myself once after being flashed - clearly no film as I got no letter but I only got my car and bike license last year so it wouldn't do me any favor's on my insurance in the long run ).... I am not ashamed to say, cars overtake me in central London... on their head be it!!! However it happens to the best of us... how do you feel though?...eBay sales are the best option by the way....

HOHOHO - hows the beautiful Wales this morning? I have spent a lot of time in Gwent.. love it down there! ..now then.. freebay? Never heard of it.. how is that going??

Oodal - ( everyone say that name out loud for me and try not to smile )... did you get the new washer delivered..? hows it working out for you....I am drinking an earl grey by the way and though of you....are you sick of them yet..?

JosieBabie - may I ask what you are doing with that £5 saved from your nephews present?

Heffi1 - have you been able to resist the Quidco offers.. are you not saving by not doing it cause you need to spend to get the deal..?

ClaireForest - hows that meal plan working out - do you think you could stick to it? I am impressed with a 4 week meal plan.. that's some dedication right there! Keep us updated on it please!

Sexy-Shark - where are you, whats happening in Shark land..?

Old Tractor - tell me how you are doing and why the name...

FireWyrm - how are you going to hit that £975 overdraft? Are you able to sell things or do more overtime at work.. Mine is currently at £650 and will be reduced by £325 for the next two pay days... now my Bank are very understanding and worked out that taking another credit card from them to cover a 0% interest purchase of my bike insurance wasn't worth it and the overdraft is effectively free... the women I go to has known me since I was 9years old and since its in a small town in Northern Ireland they are helpful. What is it like with your bank... what are the interest charges.. is it a unauthorized OD or authorized?

I Will Win ( ITS A BOY I TELL YOU, ITS A BOY )... where are you Mr Winner? Are you watching and lurking and being a good Contender.. I am always interested in how this affects the boys.. the women love the "bits" of saving I think. Makes us feel like we are moving forward and accounting for everything.. how does this affect the boys...( Abundant1972 is all over this shizzle ) .. would love to hear from you...:)..( apologies if I have missed you amongst all the girly chat about mascara )...

Right I have LITERALLY been saved today. I have been called to assist in another office effectively missing the "lunch" that was supposed to happen. I can't leave until 1430 which makes me unnaturally happy. I came prepared and brought lunch ( more soup and more bread ) and will meet the peeps in the pub later for 1 drink then leave happy...pheeeeeeeeew! If I am good I could get away with not buying a drink at all. I am determined that this has to be an NSD. Start as I mean to go on etc...

    Onwards and Upwards!!!!

I will concur on this. This has got to be so hard for people to give up, although knowing precious pennies are being used for it.

To all the I-want-to-give-up smokers on here we salute your battle and your desire for a healthier lifestyle.......

Remember your health is in your hands no one else's.. You CAN do it..

Thank you for posting that encouragement Kiwi... and well done on your giving up!!

Apart from that, I'm just having a break from listing stuff on ebay at this very moment. Why is it so time consuming and faffy?

    Cheerleader just popping in:T:T:T:T:T

Gets easier the more you do it - do you use templates and the list something similar facility? I get as much into the title a poss and cut and paste it into the description then just make a couple of additions from there. I can list about 20-25 items in half an hour now.

    Morning everyone,

Kat, I have avoided the Quidco offer as there is nothing that I need, so it would be spending for the sake of a cashback, which in itself is just plain daft, so I will not even log in and have a look.

Smoking - I said I usually have 20 a day, well yesterday I had 14 which I think is great, I didn't miss any and I am going to try to day to match it or better it and report back tomorrow as to how I am getting on.

    Keep going everybody :)
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post
