Got my Tesco clubcard vouchers through the post today- £5x2.
Also, will be rejecting the mince that gets delivered from Tesc0 today, as i have just found some in the freezer, and also have found some batch cooked chilli con carne (which is what i ordered the mince for!), so that'll knock £2.20 off my bill0 -
NSD number 2 for me today:)
Had a day off studying and spent a lot of it on mse. Thoroughly lazy day. Got half a leg of lamb from the freezer defrosting to go in the slow cooker tomorrow. Yum.November NSD's - 70 -

Hi everybody!!!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!
Kat - yup - am loving the savings am doing, It just feels like everything is coming together and am really focused on beating my debt. I joined up to the 'Starting again - 1% at a time' thread - take a look at it. You basically take your total debt and divide by 100 to get a 1% value... It breaks it into sizeable chunks. My debts total £12,500 which was overwhelming... but now I aim for 1% = £125.00 at a time - and have a constant sense of achievement - instead of feeling defeated... Yesterday I cleared my last credit card and a chunk off other things (because I am saving via this thread )... and used up some of my Nan's money she left me when she died... and have cleared 6% already!
NOvember is great because it's for a month... it's really do-able... and yet a challenge too - something we can all be proud of at the end... Just keep thinking - each NSD is money saved - that can be used to clear something - even if it's 1 p, 50p, £1.00 or £10.00... each penny brings you a step closer to freedom and reclaiming your life!!!
Hang in there everyone!!! I am learning life doesn't have to be about expensive clothes, nights out every weekend and take aways... I can live and feel happy and fulfilled on frozen br oad beans and sweetcorn, tuna and cous cous LOL. Mind you - it is only day 2!!!
Anyhow!!!
Have made NSD number 2 so YAY!!!
Potential spend day tomorrow as going to bonfire/firework display. Thinking of taking a bag of mixed nuts and some fruit, and a bottle of 'wine' (fizzy water with blackcurrant cordial for me!) and have a few (tonnes) packs of Haribo sweets from Halloween as a treat. Will put a peg on my nose so I can't smell the fried onions/chips/candy floss, and see if I can make it another NSD!
Have a great weekend everyone!!! Will check in Sat or Sun

GelMC - I am sorry that I over looked one little detail in one of your posts...ahem.....speed awareness course? In the long run £75 is better than points ( you didn't get points did you - am not sure how it works )... I am guilty of accelerating when I shouldn't sometimes which has worn my breaks down so much my mechanic always asks me if I want them replaced when I go in. I have begun to embrace and love speed limits - they are my money-saving friend ( despite the legal thing )... I save petrol, brake pads, speed ticket possibility ( scared myself once after being flashed - clearly no film as I got no letter but I only got my car and bike license last year so it wouldn't do me any favor's on my insurance in the long run ).... I am not ashamed to say, cars overtake me in central London... on their head be it!!! However it happens to the best of us... how do you feel though?...eBay sales are the best option by the way....
Hi Kat and everyone else!!!! Well done with the NSDs!!!!
Still haven't managed a NSD yet. I ended up taking my folks shopping, as they were carless adn had just returned from their hols, so I thought I might as well do my £25 food shop for the week. They went to a place where there is a cheapish green grocers so I stocked up for the week. Tomorrow and Sunday will be NSDs, and then once I get back on the treadmill of work on Monday it should be easy peasy.
Yes, I'm not best pleased about the £75 for the speed awareness course but it will mean no points and therefore no impact on my insurance. I'm trying to put a positive spin on it as: 1) the course might be interesing 2) I am guilty as charged 3) no points 4) I have to go to Huddersfield for it, where I haven't been for years. I was 'flashed' in October so I knew this was coming. I'm quite stoical now about accept motoring costs such as this.
Btw, I managed to download the motormate App you told us about, Kat . Must remember to switch it on every time I drive somewhere.
Another result was that the kind folks from wahanda got back to me and offered me a £40 credit note for the trouble I'd had with them. This is very nice of them indeed as they also refunded me what I had originally paid - the same amount of £40.
My next post will include my Sig, honest!:):):):)

Hi all!
Checking in for my 2nd NSD!!!
Kat I will be using any pennies saved for overpayments at the end of NOvember!
Well done everyone so far! Just wrote a long post then lost it all :-(
XxxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Cheerleader just popping in:T:T:T:T:T
Gets easier the more you do it - do you use templates and the list something similar facility? I get as much into the title a poss and cut and paste it into the description then just make a couple of additions from there. I can list about 20-25 items in half an hour now.
WOW Igamogam, 20-25 mins in half an hour. No, I don't use templates but maybe should try. I still can't fathom how you can do it so quickly. Big thanks for the cheerleading!
Also wanted to say that I paid off a credit card today for £500. That was money that was gonna go towards my mortgage deposit, but I'm taking heed from Kat's words of advice.
I also 'enjoyed' my shop and ensuring that I stick to a budget. I even put some things back so that I didn't dent it too much. It's amazing what you can do when you've got your eye on the ball and when you're focused. the accountability involved in joining this ace thread also helps.
I'm loving the kitty cat talk too. My furry tabby alarm clock Daphne says Miaow...purr-rrrrrrr!!!!:):cool::cool::cool::):):)

Check out all those NSD's!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I would like to add that I made it through the day and have scored NSD number 2. I went out as planned, no food and no drink bought. I asked for water and got water but the girl who was leaving had bought me a soda water and blackcurrant when I nipped to the loo ( she is too lovely ) and that did me for a few hours.
I am now scrubbed, in a face mask and checking in on my Contenders.. and how proud am I!
Abundant you are on fire!!!....thank you for that post.. I was thinking about this the other day. With my smaller loan ( £3000 ish ) its nice to watch it reduce. I was wondering how I would deal with the larger £9000 ish one and this seems like the way forward. I might look into this in January if I can get rid of the other smaller loan and overdraft by then...( fingers crossed ).. I am off to £6 entry fireworks tomorrow and will be bringing flasks of hot chocolate with me... might dig out some snacks too.. great idea!!
Josie I know the feeling - thank you for posting anyway.. and well done on that NSD!
Candy.....WanttobeSE is right there. Keep the shopping to your spend days so we can keep the NSD's as high as possible... Apologies I should have clarified this at the beginning!
GelMC you have taken the right stance. It is what it is! The money is MUCH better than points.. this is the best option by far. It makes you think too, it keeps you safer and I really appreciate you sharing this!! That motormate thing is amazing!!! Put it on when you are on the bus as well if you use it..
Cranny44 - ever thought of nudity as a way of retaining that 3rd NSD and not buying a swimsuit?
His_Missus ..I forgot about bonefire night kitty attacks... I will defo keep mine in then! Best keep hubby in as well!
SkintSue - what a wicked day you have had! Food and treats squirrelled away...I love the idea of your pies. With mash and peas yes?... Gimme your address....
Brighthopefortomorrow - YEAH FOR NSD NUMBER 2!!!
Apologies if I left anyone out but I really need to take my face mask off as it feels like its starting to burn....I am determined to use up all my beauty products...( this is white clay by the way and I currently look very hot )......NOT!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
