I have to go to Tesco to pick up a direct order of underwear and nightwear for my children (already paid for) but worried as I need milk and bread, so will have to pop into the main store. I'l be chanting 'just say no, just say no!'
NSD's? do you count food shopping in those or is it extras that constitute the NS's?
I'm no longer worried.I have just submitted a weekly shop order for delivery tomorrow. I will make a loaf and use up an emergency carton of UHT that I have until then. The order contains everything I need for the week, using up the meats I have in my freezer. I'm also an avid slow cooker user and bulk my meals out with lentil. It also contains ingredients/items for DH's and DD's packed lunch.
Want to know the best bit? It was £10 under budget even with the delivery charge.
Will look at making better use of the £2 delivery slots at Asda next week.
Bring it on! :jNOvember Challenge #33: shopping £35/£180 ~ NSD's 0/25 ~ blips £0

Morning all you lovely challengers from a rainy blustery Wales, stuck in work til 4 and got a horrible eye infection so plain:cool: miserable.
On the other hand really fuelled up for NOvember, decorating coming along nicely decluttering to begin tonight- ebay and freebay.
Also need to plan out Christmas shopping trips to tie in with grocery deliveries sitting down and planning is going to be my hour of peace tonight, have a good day all, all meals are from home today, cereal, fruit and mugshot in work, and a chicken dinner later:D... purse left at home :rotfl:SW loss 7st 4lb
NOvember #29 1/NSD £0/£250.0 -
Well then a very good morning to you all!
Things seem to be setting off on a good slant with lots of positivity! That's what I like to see!
If anyone is yet to submit a grocery amount or I have missed it by all means send me an inbox message with your amount... I'll add them throughout the day!
I am about to head out and withdraw my cash for the month. Unfortunately this has to include new brakes and an MOT for Hercules ( the motorbike ) later today and I am not going to class this as a spend day. No other monies will be spent and this was pre-planned so if there is other car mainantence planned for / house fixtures that are being done - and the money was already accounted for last month and put aside this is not a spend day..
We are concentrating on the surplus that might otherwise go missing .. so yes food shopping days are spend days - hence you are tightened into how much you can spend. Just get rid of those bits in the cupboards first and you might be surprised that you have some pennies left over at the end of the month...
We can't avoid car maintenance so the same goes for train tickets for the week / month... I will let you discount them as a spend day so you can mark yourself up for an NSD if this is all you are buying and it's clearly pre-planned as per every other week / month..
Apologies for not clarifying this sooner and I hope it hasn't inconvenienced anyone in their plans this month...
But I am so excited by this now... time to sell all my c*ap on eBay tonight!!!..:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I am drinking Earl grey and determined not to buy regular teabags until they have gone!
Going to make veg casserole(stew mix £1 and dumplings for tea 25p from AP) so 1.25 not bad for the 3 of us!Having a Consumer Holiday 2015:A0 -
Gooooood Morning all, from a wet, cold and windy Cornwall
So, todays adventures have begun, and i for 1 am now very excited! The day began as i knew it would, with my 1st direct debit going out, water for £55.50.
My pumpkin has been all chopped up (photo on my DFD), and will be going into the freezer- its not on thie weeks meal plan, and i cant deviate from the meal planI will use 1 batch as the base for a pumpkin and coconut curry (expect a photo of that next week too on my DFD, lol).
So, NOvember is starting with a NSD, woo-hoo!!!
Have a brilliant day everybody0 -
Oodal you sound like you have a brilliant , relaxing day ahead of you. Like you I want to cut down on my tea intake simply because it negates the need for milk then and I could go to el'cheap ( slightly disgusting ) soya which works out cheaper for my porridge..
Is DH as excited as you..?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Morning - woke up thinking about this challenge...OH is in as well - just need to keep reminding him
All my dd's come out the account the next two days so Monday I will have an accurate picture of Monies left - I have already transfered £200 to online savings and will hopefully be able to ransfer more at the end of the month!! One BIL has decided he does not want to do anything special for his birthday...we will see him at Rugby this weekend (quinns - we have season tickets) and will give him his gift then..boutght in Oct. Secretly I was pleased as thats one meal out cancelled
Saturday will be a spend day - OH needs his haircut and we are popping to Aldi for some milk and bits (small within GC budget allowance) so that will be the spend day this weekendLove reading the oldstyle board...always something to learn!0 -
kat..He is ok, actually we talk about money a lot easier now than we used to, he is on board with the emptying of cupboards before buying more food and actually stopped me ordering the other day when i said AP have loads of stuff we could use! i think communication is the key, however difficult it is sometimes, and he dosn't want to be back in debt anymore that i do so...:j
in one supermarket I Bought fresh veg and christmas cake ingredients yesterday should of been £31.00 but with vouchers and coupons managed to get it for £10.94 so best pleased!
will update my sig laterHaving a Consumer Holiday 2015:A0
