I too would fail misserably at the NSD's so cannot join in the fun. My social life consists of sport and I pay around £2 each match 'on the night'. That would be 15 spends alone!. Plus I shop on the way home from wherever/pop to the shops at least 4-5 times a week too. Why, you ask? Simple, it saves me money. Almost all my bread and bakery items plus lots of fruit, veg, diary and even meat/fish at silly prices. I'm talking pence!!!!
If I adhere to the NSD rule it would cost me more, which is completely against the spirit of the thing.
Will do my own NOvember lite (cos I'm scared Ninja will keep shouting at me:eek:)0 -
I have ordered one of those free veg boxes too
Will mark in my diary to cancel the order when the box arrives!0 -

Ha ha! I am a nice Kat.. don't be scared. I don't shout - I just emphasise SOME words with capitals. Its not shouting really its just making a point where a point is needed. Your sports are planned - this is not an NSD spoiler day!
Are you saying your cupboards are empty and you only buy what will keep you going for a few days?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I'm really tempted to join but also feel I would be setting myself up for a fail. I shall support from the sidelines and attempt my own NOvember-lite challenge. I find it really difficult to get Hubby on board with these kind of challenges, he's yet to have his LBM and he just doesn't "get it", grrr!
I will reduce my grocery spend, get back into using up all the stuff in the cupboards, bulk-cooking and try to achieve 25 NSDs.0 -

Nope my cupboards are fully stocked and I have all the meat etc I need in the freezer for this month. I buy in advance for the following month, plus any fresh stuff I need for this one but at a cost of mere pence per item (9p bread items usually, 10p to 30p for fruit and veg, £1 for meat packs etc average costs) because its all yellow stickered! If I go often and obv at the right time of day, then I can pick up the bargains, freeze them and use in the month ahead. If I curtail the days looking for bargains, December is going to be a VERY expensive month!0 -
FREE graze box:
https://www.graze.com/ Your first box is normally half price, but is free with this code: H2B8CYT
Same as the other ones, you sign up, enter card details and then cancel after your first (free) box.
Just click on the link i gave above, then click on 'Get started now', and enter the code i gave you, in the top of the page, select which box you want, and carry on from there
i love free food!!0 -

Hope this may help some - great recipes on the Grocery Challenge Thread & loads of useful tips / experts around.
If you have stuff in your cupboards that needs used (esp when you get towards the end of the month & things may be running out), pop a list up and believe me, someone will know what to make with it!
