Stuck at home again today, so it was another NSD .
I spent the day watching a couple of films, ironing at the same time, I also made some crafting stuff for presents with stock I already had.

I had a spend day yesterday - £7 in total. Milk, butter, and some Orange Juice. Still well under the Say No monthly budget I set myself, and severely under the normal monthly spend.
It's horrific how much does go without realising it - pick up some milk and a mag catches your eye. In the supermarket for food, and a sparkly pair of earrings somehow end up in the basket, and because they are ONLY £3, they stay.
I am ashamed of how bad I have been with money, even if it is ONLY £3's here and there.
I have certainly turned over a new leaf since starting this challenge.

Just checking in with another 3 nsds to add to the pot, as I have mentioned I have lost count on how many days I have built up, but good news is that I am under budget, in total this month I spent £187 out of a £200 budget, so I am very pleased with that total. Also as it was payday for me on Friday, I don't really know if I should stop counting my food budget against this or my monthly amount - hmmm a bit confusing for me as I usually work 24th to 23rd of the following month.I will see if I can make it to the end of Nov without spending anymore, but I fear I may need to get some basics in, the veg and bread is looking very low, but if I stick to pasta and rice I am sure we will get through.

Well done on everyone getting so many NSDs under the belt, it has been an eye opener for me, I realise just how often I would go to the shop for food and get home to see I already had enough in to make a meal or three...so a lesson on using what is in before buying more has definitely been learned for me.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post

LOL! Donatello indeed! :p..When I said slink off I meant - disappear on us.. I didn't mean that you would give up. I hope I didn't offend..

I don't understand the above. Is this you telling me that your friends are giving you a wee bit of a hard time for wanting to apy your debts off faster?

And how much is it at now please?

    x

its more my friends and work mates say they could handle my life in general as its very stressful of course alot is not gone in to on here ... money and family ... the last 2 years have been a very stressful time for me and for it has seen my debt go up .. still paying of last years xmas ... absolutely stupid i know but you live and learn and im refusing to do it this year and i havent so far ...

    as it stands ...

£550 to sainsburys cc at 20.9% apr
£958 to barclayscc at 27.9% apr
£1850 to very at 39.9% apr
£1300 to overdraft barclays (im not sure of the apr but it take £20 interest every month) ...

so that £4658 in total x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • Right searching.. how much can you throw at these altogether each month?

    :)Still searching .....:)
  • Sounds like a good plan - does VERY need the full amount still?

Ask your bank to reduce your OD every month by the interest plus £20..you won't notice it so much but I have done that myself and will be rid of it entirely on Friday..

You do a lot of OT as well don't you..? Or are trying to..? Keep me posted on your amount per month you can afford to pay out.. we need rid of that VERY account...

  • Banks are such a pain aren't they searching_me. I am doing my overdraft last as it is not costing me interest at the moment when I am under the 1k mark. It soon will be paying interest but I would rather be paying off the c.cards first.
Popping in to delcare that today was another NSD but yesterday sadly not. I had to unexpectedly pay for a train journey to OHs parents, he planned a last minute trip, bit annoying but it was lovely to see them. His mum gave us a lift back today though so PHEW! no money spent there, and i waited to get the train yesterday as it is £2.20 cheaper than the bus haha! :-)

  • Leave this with me I will inbox you tomorrow in order to not fill up the thread. However tell me - does the "available for debt re-payments" include the "monthly unsecured debt repayments" so you only have £299? And you need to invest in a very small siary to carry everywhere to find out EXACTLY where that £299 goes...and I mean EVERYTHING!!!
