  • Hey MancMan... my CC bill went up a month after I started my own thread from £350 to £1000 because of motorbike stuff. I cleared £750 by mistake when the silly bank took too much -which works out better for me as it's better that its not there..

You will clear this - your determination is superb.. we will keep an eye one you!!!..:money:

I have started keeping eyes peeled as I motor about for farms selling eggs.. one up the road sells gas canisters, refills and carrots - so weird! But there is a TFC near me.. Turkish Food Centre which sounds like your food markets... so much better value as well!!

Right I am signing off.. got a few DDD tweaks to set in stone..

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

  • Another NSD and sitting and waiting for the ebay bidding frenzy, lol. Not happening (still got an hour to go), but had a good few bids :T this evening which means I should make enough to cover about a third of the car service/MOT bill of £350 . Not too bad for my first venture into the world of ebay, ley's hope the payments and shipping goes ok. Will see how soon I am allowed to list some more.

  • Hello all ,

    Long time no speak/read/write...:o
I am doing OK, have been busy and somehow haven't been on this site much... NSD are not too bad(could have done better, I thought I would anyway:o 17 so far), but well crossed over my food budget (only today realised that Kat put me down for £50 :eek: not £100 which was my original idea :rotfl:), but I try my best next time. I have to be careful what I eat though(no gluten no diary+ some food allergies that don't help).
Very pleased that apart from 2 essentials I haven't spent any money on toiletries, clothes or anything bought at work :j. So I am very happy about it.
Kat, it looks like you are cracking your debt down at very high speed, well done girly!!! Very happy for you. :T

    All the best everyone,

  • NSD number 21 for me today. Lots going on today and I'm fit for nothing but bed tonight. College tomorrow and lunch all packed so won't spend tomorrow either:)

Wednesday will be my last spend day for the month and I will have clocked up 24 in total this month. I am really pleased with this and looking forward to December so I can save even more!

Have definitely got enough money to take the kids to cinema in early December with happy cash saved:)

Have the last few Xmas presents to buy which I shall probably do in the first week before the shops get mental x

  • Hey Guys,

I haven't updated for a while, but I have been reading the thread and keeping updated with you all ;)

I have hopefully had my last spend day of the month, spent 75.00 of my 80.00 shopping budget and I'm currently on 22 NSDs, 3 more to go to reach my target!

Is it wrong that I am extremely excited to receive my free graze box tomorrow? :o Hopefully it will be full of lovely goodies.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the overtime I wanted in work, only managed to get one day. But hopefully a few more hours will become available over the Christmas/New Year period... fingers crossed.

I have to wait a little longer for my payday...it's not until 19th! So I can't do any further debt busting until then, well unless I make some extra pennies in the mean time :p

Have had 3 spend days in a row. On Saturday spent £5 on fruit and veg, so far so good. My mum treated me to lunch and we window shopped. Sunday I did my supermarket spend and spent £12 on flowers for my mum and £20.84 on food and spent £4 on some golden sparkly twigs?!????!! Did my market research assignment too but then also spent £43 at tk maxx on a party dress and a cardigan. I've was paid today, btw.

Today I haven't been thinking of my finances and it has been financial carnage, although I haven't gone totally mad like in the past. I still have money for pressies, x-mas dos and meeting friends etc.

Now my dilemma is whether to pay the car insurance of about £410 or pay off debts? Have got a £200 Credit card and owe my mum £50 and my Dad £100. Want to go for the insurance as the Eu are hiking it for women soon.

SOS/Help, advice and motivation please!!!! Feeling very disappointed with myself :(:(:(:(
  • Totally fed up:( finding no matter what i do to save something happens like the car breaksdown or girls need new shoes. Now my other half could be losing his job or put somewhere which will cost more in petrol :mad:than its worth:eek:. Also no matter what i budget doesn't seem to be enough:wall:. What am i doing wrong seriously give up going nowhere fast.
Sorry for the rant just better when its out rather than bottled up. Anyway away to bed for another sleepless night how i am going to afford christmas:eek: god knows. So tired but brain keeps going won't switch off anyway goodnight.:(:(:(:(:(:(:( sorry again.

    Morning all:)

Can't believe we are nearly at the end of this challenge!

Up early again this morning. School run, then off to college.

Fridge looking very empty now:( but will add a few bits to it on next shop.

I had planned on going tomorrow but I forgot I have work being done on the house so will probably have to go today instead. I will update with final figures for the month this afternoon. I know I have saved money so very pleased.

Not sure what dinner tonight will be, but it will be something from the freezer x

Once you take your car insurance policy for the year, the price is as quoted & won't change during that period.

You need to look at the interest rate the insurance company will charge you to pay monthly and the interest rate on your c/card and pay the one that has the higher rate.

However, if you've purposely set aside the money each month to pay your insurance in full, then personally, I'd do this as it's a good habit to get into for all your bills and if you've done the first year, that's the hardest one to do!
