  • Anyone else excited about payday coming up ( or just passed ) cause you can throw more money at your debts..? I am literally willing the week away! I am not sure how much I will be taking home either..I have guestimated on the low end and really hope I scrape in at around this or a little over....

Hummmmph only 4 more days to go!!

Cannot wait for payday. May get on board with the december challenge too. Any chance of sending the link to me on private message as I can so frequently not get a chance to get online unless at work.

Another NSD planned for today. So far so good!
I've not left the house, I've made some calls, sent some e-mails, and have to send one big one with scanned attatchments, so I'm going to do that tonight when OH is home to supervise (I'm a Luddite with technology).

I have a bit of a moral dilemma that I'd like some guidance on from you NSD experts - please.

I've got quite a good stock of gifts I have been given over the years (Smellies, Scarf and Glove sets, Unopened DVDs, booze) etc, which will be used - some day.
Should I regift these this year? I'm making everyone a gift of some kind as a token, and will have to get something for a few, but feel a bit of a fraud.
In the past I'd be slightly mad (not on CC) and used hamper style vouchers or PO Christmas Club to fund it, but this time I've not been able to, so Christmas Dinner, normal shop and gifts will all have to come out of the next 3 weeks of DLA and IB.
    That is a challenge!!
Repeat 100 times to self "I can do this, I CAN do this!"

There is nothing wrong with regifting unwanted pressies in my opinion as long as you:
    a) make sure the recipient didn't give you the gift originally
    b) the gift is suitable for the person you regift to

I regift quite often using my 2 simple rules. Remember it's the thought that counts not the cost of the gift :)

Although after walking to work the last few days I think i can call it essential now :D I have sold enough stuff on ebay to cover it so will not go over budget :DHope your all doing well there are some great NSD being reported Love P0lly x

  • Good Evening all!!

Well I have had a massive plate of spaghetti with too much garlic, loadsa cheese and butter! Healthy - NOT! Poor !!!!!-ca doesn't want cuddles now..although I feel a little bit ill!!

So I had another NSD and shall mark it up shortly. No more eBay sales just yet but have one ending tomorrow I think!

MancMan86 - I will send you the link as soon as its up and running - tomorrow at the latest I think so it gives people time to mentally plan! You have £1900 to pa on your CC.. is that it? That could be gone sooner that August or are you wanting to take it normal as opposed to going mental on it.. you have just moved haven't you? How is the new house?..Is you OH on board too?

Siouxsie its my dream to have enough money each month to eat MORE fruit. You are right it's so expensive just to eat healthy! I say get nuts and oranges for Christmas instead of Quality Street...( okay maybe one tin )... But it does annoy me that the horrible food is the cheapest! People need re-education. That will be my next aim...LOL! Money first then healthy eating..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...
There might be something in the DDD challenge to assist though with the weight gain. I am aware a lot of people including myself have been surviving on pasta to clear the cupboards and the upcoming celebration month won't help....:rotfl:

SkintSue..I don't think re-serving a gift is wrong. I just think you need to be super careful about who you give to just in case Aunty Sue realises that the hat and scarf set she gave you last year is now being worn by your 12yr old niece ( guessing on family members here )..

Polly I think that coat was a good buy too! Well done you on good judgement ( nothing to do with impulse-must-have-pretty-coat syndrome AT ALL ) ...:T..at least you will get good wear out of it in the coming weeks! Shoulda got yourself some wellies too though..
    ( Siouxsie wellies??? )

Searching - how is it with pay every two weeks..? A good thing or not so good? Have you always had it this way though? I would find it super hard to be disciplined!!

His_Missus.... which toiletries did you get? I think the !!!!!-cats don't understand what we are doing so I would feel bad not getting mine litter etc as she stays in now during this weather...poor !!!!! cats - wonder what they are all doing in the flooded areas? I'd go and get them all....MEOOOOOOOW! ...sorry...

Right I have a chocolate pudding in the oven - more later...

    Onwards and Upwards...

  • I am up to 22 NSD's in total with no more spending planned.
so should reach 26 and a budget of £39.30 spent for the month.

I simply cant believe it,:j:j:jThe extra money left in my account before payday tommorrow is fantastic, will be straight onto a card.

I do need boots (holey trainers are no good in the rain!!). They're budgeted for so if I get them I'm not denting any budget. May get them later this week or may wait til next week (I'm quite lucky cos I hate shopping!!)...maybe I'll wait to read the DDD rules first!

i have discovered today while talking about shoes with a colleague that the bottom of my sole is coming off, I felt like a real tramp, so it looks like I am going to have to replace my work shoes again!! I have only just broken them in as well :( I am going to be very strict though and not spend more than £20 on a decent pair.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post
  • NSK - Its up to £2400 with the car insurance. But that will be it. I plan to take it steady with it and not go at it like a bull in a china shop. Would love to have it all paid off by August 2013. Not sure how possible that will be. OH is not on board yet, however i suspect when the first load of bills come in i.e gas and electricity that may change. With my tin at work which is going really well it could be realistic. Whatever I have out of my weekly budget left is going on the c/c at the end of the month. I may be getting a bike for christmas bought by my mum -should save huge amounts of petrol.
  • Siouxsie - We have a local fruit and veg wholesalers - its like a massive warehouse - as we have a great fruit and veg market in the city centre - its where all the traders go. May be worth seeing if you have a wholesalers in your area I save a fortune in there.
