  • Morning:)

Planning another NSD today. Lunch will be sandwiches and using up the last of the salad stuff. Soup is all finished so will be making some more early part of this week to use up veg. Made jelly for pudding tonight and will be making kebab from the takeaway secret for dinner for me, DS 1&2. Dd and ds3 will have something from freezer.

I am hoping to drag out last spend day until Wednesday.
    November NSD's - 7
  • Had a weeny little spend yesterday, after having thought about Bread Pudding all week I just had to give in and make some, so I needed some extra milk.

Still, all was not lost, I popped into a new shop to have a nose and signed up for their VIP card which meant I got the milk at cheapest I have seen. The girl told me the offer will be on until Christmas, so I'll be getting my milk in there for the forseeable. :T

Was worth it anyway for the bread pudding.
    Mortgage
    Start January 2017: $268,012
    Latest balance $266,734
    Reduction: $1,278.45
  • Had my fifth and final spend day yesterday. The meal plan ended up being done several times to make sure I came in under budget- luckily a voucher arrived for Mr M so this helped make the money go further.

Being on this challenge has really kept me focused as I could feel myself thinking it doesn't matter if I go a little over... but realised it does matter and I was going to stick it as I had got this far and I was not going to be beaten..... anyway cue excessive meal planning and use of calculator in shops .... I walked out with 74p left :) hurrah!!

.... athough I came home from shopping to find one of the burgers (planned for a meal) had been eaten by the other half...d'oh!!

Will spend some time today baking some bits for during the week- when doing the meal plan I was checking my receipe book and realised that the cupboard ingredients I have really stretch to all manner of things. This challenge has really taught me to bake more... so this is something I am hoping to stick with in the long term.

Anyway just need to keep my head down now and hopefully make it to December with no further spends required. Petrol is very low in the car so will be cutting out use of car where ever I can this week.

well today has been a NSD through force as much as needing to ...

work got cover for the next two days so i dont have to go in (an hour and a half work to and from through a rough neighbourhood is not wise) so next month i'll be down 18 hours :( so i best get sorted now for january ... im so in for december ... im fed up of feeling pooper then poop just because crap keeps happening its my life and its always been hard and ive always had to work hard to get half the stuff that other people seem get so freely without a care .. so im taking tonight to feel crap have a huge plate of my HM chicken curry and a huge slice of the dairy free chocolate cake ive made and get my head down ready for tomorrow ... OH is at his sisters (got stuck there as their car brokedown) and once the kids are bathed and in bed im just gonna relax as my head is killing me from stress ...

sorry to go on just feels better to write it down ... as you were and joins wishing with the deckchair and flask waiting for december debt destruction ... im bring my HM cake to share as well xx
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • Searching - sometimes I feel like this too. I work so hard, and am living in a room with a cat. Why does it seem so easy for everyone else?? Because those that have what we want put it on credit, tell themselves that everyone has a bit of debt of course it's ok, swap CC without thinking about interest rates...

Yes I want a new £200 watch but I refuse to put it on my CC just to have something to look at... many people I talk to with nice things usually follow up the "oh thank you" with "I just whacked it on the CC - ah well"......

WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO THIS! I want a coat from Reiss - one that fits so well and will last as you knows its quality.. but I also want to travel for 6 months without worrying about having to have money in my account to pay for loans..

Searching - this journey is REALLY hard. But did we not get ourselves into this situation in the first place...??

    I found this...
....after sitting down this weekend and working out what i owe, where to and the APR .. I now know i owe to the sum of £3422 ...

But the question im not sure on is which one do i tackle first ... so wondering if you could help ..

As its stands here they are ..

Very: £234 on BINP april 2011
Barclays CC: £938 at 27.9% apr
Sainsburys CC: £550 at 12.9% apr
PC World: £300 at £15.63 a month 26.9% (non flexible)
Overdraft: £1300 month charge at £35 and 1% charge ..

Now I cant get transfers or any other CC for 0% (already tried) .. my min payments work out at about £144 but im going to round it up to £200 ... ive also done the snowball .. either on balance or apr and they both pretty much come about the same as a DFD ..

but what would you class as more important to shift first???? x

Where does this sit at the moment...? I would not usually bring this much information about one person into a thread like this but I will not sit here and let you slink off and be worried about not having what everyone else does... You have an OH and two children - anyone would kill to be in your shoes. HOWEVER I am not telling you to be grateful - thats super patronising and not what I am about... I slammed your figures into a Snowball Calculator and figured out you could be free by June 2013..

What is your overall plan..? Spill with the rest of the gang and we will help where we are able...

    Debt-free and Proud!

Speaking of temptations... His Missus..if you are well prepped perhaps a sell on ebay for penance and NSD's all the way through to the end now..?

    ..now BRING IT ON!!!

:o Better confess once more. yesterday was a NSD :T today however was not. Local craft shop was closing today and had a fill a bag for £10. Couldn't resist and will not need to buy any craft materials for at least 6 months if not a year, far too much of a bargain to pass over.
I don't sell my makes, but it saves me a fortune on cards. No more spend days now til the weekend when the cats run out of food.

wow i forgot about that ... im not slinking anywhere trust me ive been slinking for to long and im now worse off then written on there ... ive given myself til im 30 (which is in 2 and a half years ish) ... my OH is a spend happy person and i got caught up in it, not that its his fault i know i could of said no ... but now i have to deal and get on ..

i have no problems in sharing my debt and if it helps someone then share and share alike ....

and when it comes to being envious of other people its not what they have but how they never seem to have the share of problems compared to myself and by that i mean the people around .. they always tell me i couldnt do what you do and it can drag me down and get on top of me ... but after a day or so of feeling like crap i bounce back and think if they couldnt deal then i must be stronger then them ... if that makes mean ...

trust me ninja (i love that its like im replying to donatello :D) ... im not going anywhere x
    :)Still searching .....:)

LOL! Donatello indeed! :p..When I said slink off I meant - disappear on us.. I didn't mean that you would give up. I hope I didn't offend..

I don't understand the above. Is this you telling me that your friends are giving you a wee bit of a hard time for wanting to apy your debts off faster?

And how much is it at now please?

    Hiya,

Must have missed the announcement of December Debt Destruction but I'm definitely in. Better start planning soon a bit before the proper conditions are announced or are they out yet?

Had another two NSDs as we were in Glasgow and either "FIL" or BF paid (for stuff or dinner I had no say in nor wanted ;) or we just staid in. That takes me to 21 NSDs. Need to top up groceries at some point but might just postpone a bit and make that a big shop in prep for December as I get paid on Friday anyway.

Can't wait to sell stuff on ebay as only then I can list more. Got 5 watched items now, and three with bids and one that already has two bids and only ends tomorrow night has 31 watchers!!!!!! YAY

Edit: that ebay bidding business is quite additive. might be watching that till I go to bed ;)
