Thansk Kat and Siouxsie, I will read the email again to see if I have misunderstood it and have some fun with it anyway I think.

OK I have read it and it looks like the original offer has expired.

    Hello all!

:oDid I really say I was going to do 7NSDs in a row to end NOvember on a high? Did I? Darn it! Failed already :(

Went into town at lunch to buy gifts with vouchers but ended up having to put £3 towards Hubby's gift from Debs as I only had £20 in vouchers. You all may forgive me for this, after all, I've bought Hubby his main present for essentially £3. However... I also bought some xmas decs that were by the tills on 70% off at £4.50:eek: Impulse buying...NOOOOO! We do need, not want, new decs this yr and they were a bargain but..:o

Well NOT another NSD, so it remains at 19 so far and 4 spend days as I bought my lunch at work today. Had guests round for dinner last night and just didn't have any time/leftovers or anything quick to take :(. However one of my ebay things (DM boots for 14£ have 20 watchers :j) so hopefully they're not just competitors that watch but consumers that ill start a bidding frenzy on Monday

Is Kat actually a ninja??? I always assumed she rode a Kawasaki Ninja! (And was very impressed with the idea that she does:rotfl:)

Hello all, I am on NSD number 20 for the month. This weekend we have the NEC bike show in Birmingham which is budgeted for, hotel is paid for and tickets booked and paid for ages ago. OH is buying dinner as I have paid for everything else. Tomorrow is a spend day as I have to get some groceries but it should be the last one of the month, bringing me in at 26 NSD's!!! SHOULD I wrote....so we'll see before I claim victory!:j

Have done a balance transfer on a card today so that should help me on my journey and have a whole new urgency to clear things thanks to this challenge! I won't be joining officially in December but I feel this is habit forming so think I will be continuing this anyway :D
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • Hi all,

I'm so sorry I'm not getting on here during the week. I'm dying under the new workload that's been piled up on me over the past fortnight. It's horrific... and means I'm working every spare minute at the moment and not getting on here until weekends.
But it is all good for the spending. I'm not spending because I don't have time! I'm on 19 nsd's and tomorrow will (hopefully) be my last nsd of the month. We're desperate for shopping as we didn't do any last week (apart from a measly £18 top up of milk, veg etc), and also the car is back in the garage again. Praying it won't be expensive - that thing always ends up taking a few hundred quid off me in the run up to Christmas.

    Hi just to clarify,
If I was to join next month, I have things on ebay like soap sets, and a few jane norman, monsoon, and jasper conran evening/party dresses, that I am hoping will sell in December, when I take them to the Post Office is that a spend?
Also been good at doing surveys this year and have been getting gift cards 1 for Tesc0 and 7 for sains when I use them as this was going to be my food shopping is that a spend?

Hi Sanfran, it depends on how you want to play it at NSDs, if you follow the NSD thread there is a helpful post on every page that tells you more about it (sorry I have no idea how to post the link) but the current one is called Remember remember NSD challenge and it is on the debt free wanabee board, you can forum search it.
Personally I don't count ebay as it has already been paid for, and if I use vouchers I don't count that either, unless it is for something I didn't need to buy.
The main challenge for me is not buying anything ELSE when doing those things, like chocolate bars in the post office (my GOD you should see the display, I think they sell every kind...:rotfl:) or junky c**p on a tescies shop, that kind of thing :)

    Well now...

I had the most superb night at a girlfriends house. She planned a "Man vs Food" style feast for us and we basically stuffed our faces with her food on her birthday in her house!!! Three courses, Vietnamese rice paper "do-it-yourself" spring rolls, three tiered oat burger stack ( with fried pineapple, avocado, egg, coriander salsa, chilli sauce, lettuce, oat burger, then repeat three times ).. with sweet potato fries... followed by a chocolate orange tofu mousse..

I'd like to say I could avoid buying food now for another week but I am always hungry and am planning on today being a spend day and the last of them for the month!!! I have a girlfriend to dinner tomorrow and have everything bar rice available so will be adding that plus lots of milk and cat food to my list...can't starve the moggy! :T

I am very excited, anxious and nervous about the launch of the next challenge. I may ask people to make a small purchase ( under £3 ) and have listed up some ideas to clarify what constitutes as a spend day and what doesn't.. I personally intend to be more on the ball with updating the front page ( which from my home computer is very annoying) and will be trawling through each post for updates as only 6-9 people in boxed me with food spending updates....:(:(:(

I am going to be a little ruthless.. I do not see Christmas as time off. Debt won't go away because its snowing...

    Watch this space.......#excitingtimes

    Onwards and Upwards..
This sounds amazing Ninja!! You must have been bursting, om nom nom. Did you get to take a doggy bag?
What did you mean about the small purchase thing, what would we be buying it for, do you mean if its under £3 then it doesn't count as a spend? I think that would be OK as long as it was an essential item like bread or milk or an emergency sarnie when you have to stay later at work.
Oh and sorry about the food budget thing, I totally forget :rotfl:. I will try to do better next month, I have lost track this month but I PROMISE it isn't over budget :)
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D

another NSD ... im enjoying racking them up and i dont even think about spending when im at work now ..

ive decided on a dream ... while im in debt it will only be a fiver a month but a house fund ... i have a long term plan of waiting for a 3 bed house from the council, buying it, doing it up, selling it on and buy the house i want my grandchildren to remember .. silly i know but a fiver a month is a start :) ...

so anyhooo tomorrow is a planned spend day no SM's allowed as my planned spend is £10 and if go to a SM i'll blow it on crap when this is my kids crafts money as well as a few other things ...

end of the is easier then i thought because at the end of the cant spend money you dont have x

I've not told Bf so far about the start of my moneymaking schemes (ebay, TCB etc) and this challenge but I started to let it slip occasionally. And he was quite taken by it, I guess I had to wait for the right time as he was never good with money and lived for today. But now that our savings are down again and I landed his £300 car service/MOT bill on my credit card I just had to start saying sth. I know I left it quite late but at least now he is receptive and takes it in whereas before he he wouldn't have. He even takes his own initiative now like cheaper car insurance, cancelling expensive phone and TV. Anyway long story short, we're moving in the right direction hopefully now together, then just me trying on my own.

Sorry longish post, just chuffed :)

Last thought. Thanks to NSK and all of you here I (we) finally started to change our mindset with this challenge where others I tried have failed.
