Have lost count a little re NSDs! I may be on NSD 17 or 18 but I can't remember if I last updates my sig in Sun or Mon?!!??!!?

So my mum's 70th birthday has arrived. Need to get her some flowers today and also have to drop in with a card and pressie for a friends 40th.

Had a lovely £25 cheque drop through the letterbox yesterday from motormate/confuses.com. Thanks Kat! Also the mystery shopping got confirmed so will get £22.50 from that. 15 items will end on eBay on Sun, so hopefully will make a few pounds there, plus already made £11 from it this month anyway. Amazon should be putting £8.66 in my a/c too, from random books sold.

All in all I think I've done quite well this month with moneyspinning. Still no word from HSBC re ppi reclaim - no news is good news.

Get paid on Monday and got to get car mot-d, taxed and insured but for the first time ever gonna pay insurance up front.

Can't wait for the December challenge! Bring it on!

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Morning :) Sorry i went AWOL for a few days, but have been unwell.

    NSD #19, 6-in-a-row :)

Its definitely getting harder now, and i am having my last NSD of NOvember today. Going to buy an extra loaf of bread and some UHT milk with my weekly shop, as i have a feeling i may need it.
My shopping list isnt actually that long, so hoping to come in UNDER budget!!
If i do come in under budget, then i can re-think my budget for December (yep, put my name on the December list Kat, i'm raring to go!).

Have a great day everyone, i shall be wrapping christmas presents!
  • Such eager beavers for December... lets get NOvember done with first!! LOL! - great to see though! Might be a spend day for me as I have no MILK for tea and need some fruit! Oh and bread I think....

  • I think I'm on my 11th NSD so MAY make it to 15, but more likely to fall short by one or two. Get paid today and last night transferred every penny left in the current a/c to savings. Never done that before. It was boosted by the winter fuel payments coming in, but even so I was very pleased. So thank you for the challenge. It really has made me think about everything I spend.
An earlier poster (sorry, not very good at moving round the site yet) asked whether to count postage on ebay items - I haven't done that, because people pay in dribs and drabs, and I had included it in the calcs. Btw, another free listing weekend coming up. Would they be getting desperate, do you think?

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all.

Well shopping last night was fun. I'd split the list into 2 of just over £40 each and had decided I was going to buy about £10 worth of xmas stuff on top. Gave Hubby his list and we both tootled off around the supermarket. My shopping came to £54, not bad a couple of £s over my budget...Hubby's came to £64 - £20 summat over budget!!!! Spent on beer, chocolate and bacon not on his list. Men, D'oh! As I shall not be partaking in the beer or choc and won't eat much of the bacon, I've transferred £44 over to his acount to cover the shopping on the list. Total shop £88 (eek! but £17 of that was on meat which should last us a few weeks) and £10 towards xmas.

NSDs start today. Have some vouchers to use to buy some xmas gifts when I go out at lunch so not counting as spend days as no actual money will leave my purse :)
  • Well now...

I had the most superb night at a girlfriends house. She planned a "Man vs Food" style feast for us and we basically stuffed our faces with her food on her birthday in her house!!! Three courses, Vietnamese rice paper "do-it-yourself" spring rolls, three tiered oat burger stack ( with fried pineapple, avocado, egg, coriander salsa, chilli sauce, lettuce, oat burger, then repeat three times ).. with sweet potato fries... followed by a chocolate orange tofu mousse..

I'd like to say I could avoid buying food now for another week but I am always hungry and am planning on today being a spend day and the last of them for the month!!! I have a girlfriend to dinner tomorrow and have everything bar rice available so will be adding that plus lots of milk and cat food to my list...can't starve the moggy! :T

I am very excited, anxious and nervous about the launch of the next challenge. I may ask people to make a small purchase ( under £3 ) and have listed up some ideas to clarify what constitutes as a spend day and what doesn't.. I personally intend to be more on the ball with updating the front page ( which from my home computer is very annoying) and will be trawling through each post for updates as only 6-9 people in boxed me with food spending updates....:(:(:(

I am going to be a little ruthless.. I do not see Christmas as time off. Debt won't go away because its snowing...

    Watch this space.......#excitingtimes

    Morning everyone,

I have completely lost count of how many days I have not spent money, but I do know I will come in under budget for the month, so I am looking at this as a positive sign. Note to self: must do better next time.

I have downloaded the motormate app and it says that the £25 will be paid on buying the insurance through them, is this right, did those of you who have used it, buy the insurance to get the £25?
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post
  • Heffi.... it was an offer for the first 5000 people to reach 250 miles .. quite possibly done now though!!

Heffi, there were 3 options with the Motormate app:

    1. A free in car phone cradle which can be claimed after 20 (or is it 25?) miles
    2. £25 cheque after driving 250 miles
    3. £25 cheque when you buy insurance through confused.com

You need to manually make the claim via their website and the cheque comes really quickly.
