Take a very thick pair of men's socks and roll them up, and put them in the bottom of a pint glass. Some people prefer to use 2 pairs of socks tightly rolled.

Take a pair of white socks (I used boys socks), roll them up and and place on top of the black pair of socks. Some people use a white face cloth.

Attach the pint of socks poem. I taped mine onto the pint glass with cellotape.

Wrap the pint glass with cellophane.

Here is the poem:

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
I will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those
Who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and The lager.
Forever and ever,
Barman....

Fantastic!! I just have to do these for dh, dad and fil...im going to do them tomorrow night, providing i can find what i need at tescos!

im sure we all already know about snowman soup, but heres the poem incase anyone needs it:
I hear you have been good this year,
always pleased to hear it,
but with winter weather drawing near,
you'll need to warm your spirit,
so heres a little snowman soup,
complete with magic stirring stick,
mix it up and sip it slow,
its sure to do the trick!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

I'm in the middle of making my girls a patchwork quilt each - materials from lots of free fabric samples! Included in these i'm going to transfer photos of them onto plain fabric to include in the design.
This is a great idea. I did the same thing for my DS when he was 5. I got him draw on plain fabric (his school, house, us, cat etc) with fabric pen and then sewed these into the quilt. He still loves this quilt 12 years later :)

The photo is not too great.

However, it is very easy to do. Wrap a roll of toilet paper (the snowman ones would be ideal) in Christmas paper and attach a poem and a nice bow :)

Poems:

I bought this little gift for you
I thought it was unique
I bet you can't guess what it is
So trendy and so chic
You'll never get caught short again
Now that you have this chum
He's charmin' and he's funny
And he'll help you wipe your *** !!!!

---

Money is scarce and times are hard,
So I'm giving you this, instead of a card.
Christmas cards are a bit of a farce,
But this will be handy, for wiping your .... nose!

---

Christmas comes but once a year & I hope that yours is happy!
But you really need to be prepared, in case it turns out crappy.
So here’s a special gift from me, to help you make it through.
And if it isn’t what you wished for, you’ll know just what to do!

I've made some but I'm not sure it's comme il faut to link to my own blog to show them. (I presume I can say link is on my profile?) Anyway, they are super easy to make, very cheap and the original blogger has better photos than I do so you don't need to see mine. :p

Actually it's very much against board rules to post links to your blog or page so please don't do so... it's also not really allowed to say "check my profile for the link" and would be enough to have the post removed which would be a shame :)

Especially as i love those LOL I may have to make some!

I like homemade, presents. Something that you know people have put 'time' into getting. But i've got some family members that would look at you in disdain if you'd spent less than £100 on something with the right label for each of them.
I've finally learnt to disappoint them.
