    If I had known then what I know now . . .
:A Official Boots Tart (I seem to be retired just now though) :A
  • I'm in the middle of making my girls a patchwork quilt each - materials from lots of free fabric samples! Included in these i'm going to transfer photos of them onto plain fabric to include in the design.

I've also made the crayon roll and knitted dolls from the babes in the wool books!
Last year my girls and I made family members reindeer flannels and xmas sweets - everybody loved them!

I think homemade gifts are so much nicer.
Live well. Laugh often. Love more.
Always look on the bright side of life.....

Take an empty jar and paste this poem on it or on a tag attached to it:

You say this jar is empty,
    Well take another look!
This jar is filled with giggles,
    In every little nook.
I put them there for you to save,
For when your life seems low.
So open up when times are sad,
    And let my giggles flow

A jar of pennies would make a nice "good luck" gift before driving test, exams, new job, wedding etc. You could do 365 so they have good luck every day that year - and it only costs £3.65.

Put rice crispies, muesli, and cheapy oats in a jar, covered with material and a ribbon, put on a label with this poem:

    Reindeer food

    Close you're eyes, no peeping,
Santa comes to those who are sleeping
He's got his sherry & his mince pie
This is for those who fly in the sky
Who pull him, guide & deliver the toys
For the good girls & the good boys
So leave this next to St Nick's cuppa
So Rudolph & friends can have some supper

Take a very thick pair of men's socks and roll them up, and put them in the bottom of a pint glass. Some people prefer to use 2 pairs of socks tightly rolled.

Take a pair of white socks (I used boys socks), roll them up and and place on top of the black pair of socks. Some people use a white face cloth.

Attach the pint of socks poem. I taped mine onto the pint glass with cellotape.

Wrap the pint glass with cellophane.

    Here is the poem:

    Our lager,
    Which art in barrels,
    Hallowed be thy drink.
    I will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
    And forgive us our spillages,
    As we forgive those
    Who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
    But deliver us from hangovers.
    For thine is the beer,
    The bitter and The lager.
    Forever and ever,
    Barman....
