Yes I do own an Iphone, although that is up for renewal in a months time.

    right,so like myself
you do a check online before making purchases, checking prices etc
can easily be done on the iphone(even with its weird screen ratio and small size.
    so an informed choice
I dont believe you suddenly decided to buy an ipad on the spot,it was obviously something you had considered purchasing already?

All may not be lost though as I have just read this:
    http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ipad-3-tablets-can-be-swapped-for-an-ipad-4

They claim this: iPad 3 tablets bought within the last 30 days will be able to be traded-in for a new iPad 4, complete with more powerful processor and Lightning connector

That sounds like only iPad's bought from Apple direct - not from Comet etc. Would like to be proved wrong though...
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

At no stage had I come on here to bleat, I came on to ask advice on my chances of returning it, what if any rights I had to this and how to aproach it.

So to say I came on here simply to Bleat about it is false, you however seem to have just posted to criticize and have a pop at others which isn't helpful to anybody.

I totally agree with you on the checking prices etc before buying and this is something I normally do, the only reason I didn't do a price check for the Ipad is that unless you have some sort of discount or voucher its almost always a standard price for the Ipad in all stores ( I've been told before that the stores don't make much of a profit from the Ipad itself so they rarely discount them. So the main reason I bought there and then was the discount of 10% which took the price down by almost £50

I think your being slightly OTT with that comment tbh, its not like some random bloke has got my money and has given me a false name and address, Its been verified with the store manager and customer services and I have a signed receipt aswell.

Although I see to an extent where you're coming from the reason I did not want to go back with it again on friday is because I literally took it back immediately the next day and they have it now in their possession whereas if I were to take it home and in again friday who knows if Id speak to a different member of staff or they would have a different view on the situation but they now have the Ipad

I understand to a certain point but it all seems quite complicated to me.

Dont always have time to do research and as stated in the initial post I did not go in with the intention of buying an ipad so i would not have researched something I hadn't initially planned to get so maybe yes i should have gone home and researched it, but im sure im not the only person in the world thats ever done it

Its a shame some people people on the forum nowadays seem more intent on having a dig at others or saying why didn't you do this or that.
I was a member of the forum previously before removing my account as I never used it, I came on for some advice on what I could say or do to assist me. It looks now as though it is being sorted and will have a happy ending, so thanks to all the people thathave given good advice and helped its much appreciated after i made this error .

I will keep people posted on developments and the final outcome .

I don't think most people are having a dig at all. But be realistic. You ask a question on a forum you are going to get a vast array of different opinions, some stronger than others. I am sure most of us would like to know this has been sorted out to your satisfaction.

    It's mainly because of the:

    a) accusation that the staff member must have known but was just trying to flog off the last ones as some sort of scam.

    b) going in all guns blazing, when there really was no need to even fire any shots, except at Apple, who you're still quite happy to give money to, to encourage their revolving door of obsolecense.

They could have said "well why don't you wait a few weeks, a new one's coming out"
They know it damn well that a new one will, they know it even more damn well that the customer will not buy it instantly and will wait, when they do come back, they could be served by someone else, so the initial idiot loses their commission. :money:

    Lots of trickery.
Chuck it out... No, wait, we can fix it. No, it's useful. Aww, it's too good to throw away. Keep it as a memory. Put it to one side, I'll ebay it. No, it'll come in handy one day. No, don't throw it, if you ____, then you can use it as a _____. Don't put it in the bin, the tip has a special section for those.
