 Therein lies the problem.
Why don't you hold out for the iPad20? It will be along eventually.
Because there is a difference between waiting for an Ipad 20 that hasn't been announced and probably will not be for quite a while and a new model being announced the day I buy one.
I am well aware that apple release updated and slightly modified products quickly but to find out the item youve spent over £400 on that day and not used is now not available as a better model has been announced is rather annoying .
So i have returned this one with an explanation that the seller agreed with and will pre order the new one for the same price on Friday .

In line with one of the theories explaining two dozen iPad part numbers that appeared earlier this week, 9to5Mac reports that half of those part numbers are indeed for a revised version of the third-generation full-size iPad.
The revised iPads arriving at next Tuesday's media event will reportedly make the switch to Apple's new Lightning connector, and may include other enhancements as well while retaining the same pricing as the current models.
Apple will announce a refreshed version of its full-sized, 9.7-inch Retina display iPad at its media event October 23rd, according to our sources. These people say that the new version of the iPad will retain the same $499, $599, and $699 WiFi-only price points, and the LTE line will retain the current $629, $729, and $829 pricing. With no price changes or additional storage capacities, we believe that the storage options of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB will also be retained.0

            Hi there,
I too would be most upset by what has happened to you, it was obviously an impulse buy and you do expect Comet to know when they release new items, they do claim to be experts.
I would have contacted them 'all guns blazing' too even though many on here think that it's your fault, I don't and seeing as you asked why stock was so low, they were obviously being cagey.
All may not be lost though as I have just read this:
 http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ipad-3-tablets-can-be-swapped-for-an-ipad-4
They claim this: iPad 3 tablets bought within the last 30 days will be able to be traded-in for a new iPad 4, complete with more powerful processor and Lightning connector
 Good Luck!
Why would Comet wish to sit on a load of old stock?0

What is the OP going to do if he buys an iPad4 then Apple suddenly announce the iPad5 just before Christmas lol
Bear in mind that the iPad4 will be 'obsolete' in 6 months time. Will you go in 'all guns blazing' again to Comet come March next year?0

Dont always have time to do research and as stated in the initial post I did not go in with the intention of buying an ipad so i would not have researched something I hadn't initially planned to get so maybe yes i should have gone home and researched it, but im sure im not the only person in the world thats ever done it
Its a shame some people people on the forum nowadays seem more intent on having a dig at others or saying why didn't you do this or that.
I was a member of the forum previously before removing my account as I never used it, I came on for some advice on what I could say or do to assist me. It looks now as though it is being sorted and will have a happy ending, so thanks to all the people thathave given good advice and helped its much appreciated after i made this error .
I will keep people posted on developments and the final outcome .0

No I wont, believe it or not Id accept it, but obviously you seem to intent on having a pop .
This Ipad had never been turned on or used there is a big difference
(hence why some apple stores are offering replacement for 30 day old units)
why are you wording your post what will HE do as if your idea of fun is to get people taking the mickey out of others, seem as though your on here to try to criticize others ?
and there were no guns blazing as comet understood my problem straight away, as do apple with the 30 day return deal ..0

Yes I do own an Iphone, although that is up for renewal in a months time.0

To be fair to the OP I too would not be very happy if I had just bought the 3 and then it was announced it would be released within a few days.
I was under the understanding that the 4 would not be released until next march and this has come as a surprise even to those in the trade from what I can gather.
I very nearly bought one last week via Tesco Clubcard rewards but I am glad I waited as I will now see how prices pan out.0
