    I am confused.

    I can find nothing on the apple site about the i.pad 4 only the mini which can be pre-ordered from the 26th oct or bought in apple store from 2nd nov.


    Where does it say that the 4 can be ordered shortly?

    I understood it to be next march.

    I wouldn't have thought they would have announced a new ipad today if it isn't released until March, surely that would damage the xmas sales of the Ipad as the ipad 3 is now 'obsolete' according to the news reports.

    surely if the new one was released next March they would keep it quiet for now

    March 2013 expected. As others have said the imminent release is for the ipad mini.

    It'll be released on the same day as the mini. Apple won't launch a new product like the iPad 4 and then not make it available for months. That is not how they roll.

    Most tech websites are reporting it as being released on the same day. Just google iPad 4 release date.

    The quote was taken pre announcement. All those dates are a summary of the rumours that tech radar had previously reported.

    Obviously bit late seeing that you've bought it but, I am confused as to why you didn't order it direct from Apple.

    1. Comet is not famous for CS. Why anyone would buy such a high value item from them goes beyond me.
    2. Did comet have a special offer or something? If not...
    3. If not, then why didn't you get it from an apple store? If you got it from Apple, you may have a chance, their CS is excellent and you could have been lucky enough to meet a sympathetic member of staff. I dropped and broke my ipad once, on holiday, was offered a free new one. Would comet (or any other retail store) offer me that? No.
    Since it's their own company ( and i'm sure their employees would know that there are people like you), they would know that this day would come.
    Whereas comet people probably couldn't care less and spend their days comparing SCARTs to USBs or something.

    When it comes to apple products, and there are no special offers anywhere else, the best place to go is their own store.
    Chuck it out... No, wait, we can fix it. No, it's useful. Aww, it's too good to throw away. Keep it as a memory. Put it to one side, I'll ebay it. No, it'll come in handy one day. No, don't throw it, if you ____, then you can use it as a _____. Don't put it in the bin, the tip has a special section for those.

    I have never heard of this before - the nearest Apple do is giving you a free OS upgrade if you buy a Mac and a new OS comes out in the next couple of months.

    Hmm, my experience of apple CS was not good, in fact it was awful. Certainly no better than Comet.
