So, they have your money AND the goods?!!!
If you are happy with that then fair enough, it's not something I would do if I could avoid it.
I think your being slightly OTT with that comment tbh, its not like some random bloke has got my money and has given me a false name and address, Its been verified with the store manager and customer services and I have a signed receipt aswell.
Although I see to an extent where you're coming from the reason I did not want to go back with it again on friday is because I literally took it back immediately the next day and they have it now in their possession whereas if I were to take it home and in again friday who knows if Id speak to a different member of staff or they would have a different view on the situation but they now have the Ipad0 -
So can anyone tell me what does the 4 have that the 3 does not?0

iPad 4- New lightning connector, the smaller one. (no 3rd party accessories or anything compatable with it yet- to make the new one compatible with old chargers, and stuff you need to buy an adapter for £25!!!)
- Faster (they always say that, TBH the 3 is fast enough for me as it is!)
- New wifi and Cellular chip. (pfft)
- Better facetime camera. (Useless if you have a slow connection)
OP, you're not missing out on much, your iPad 3 has not suddenly stopped working or anything.
Same price, same design (except for the new lightning bolt connector), same retina display.Chuck it out... No, wait, we can fix it. No, it's useful. Aww, it's too good to throw away. Keep it as a memory. Put it to one side, I'll ebay it. No, it'll come in handy one day. No, don't throw it, if you ____, then you can use it as a _____. Don't put it in the bin, the tip has a special section for those.0 -

do you think I was correct to insist they take that ipad off my hands today in the box rather than me just returning with it Friday, I just felt that if i kept it and went back Friday it would basically be back to square one, whereas at least because they now have the ipad back in their store and have accepted it back as new I should have no problem with the pre-order
Without giving you your money back? No, I don't think it was a very good idea, things go missing from stores.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
If it goes missing from the store it is again not my fault or problem as I have it confirmed on receipt that It is at the store. so that would be no problem to me, that would be there tough luck .0

Hi there,
I too would be most upset by what has happened to you, it was obviously an impulse buy and you do expect Comet to know when they release new items, they do claim to be experts.
I would have contacted them 'all guns blazing' too even though many on here think that it's your fault, I don't and seeing as you asked why stock was so low, they were obviously being cagey.
All may not be lost though as I have just read this:
http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ipad-3-tablets-can-be-swapped-for-an-ipad-4
They claim this: iPad 3 tablets bought within the last 30 days will be able to be traded-in for a new iPad 4, complete with more powerful processor and Lightning connector
Good Luck!0
