Ipad 3 BOUGHT TODAY ... now the ipad 4

Well I didnt go back into the store all guns blazing, I probably shouldn't have said that in the initial post I was just slightly annoyed that I had asked the question as to is there any reason why they only had one available and the answer was simply, No we should have another shipment soon but apple can be slow at sending them out .


A lot of people seem to be missing one point, if I had bought it and a month or two later A new model came out I would have to accept it but I had NOT even turned this one on so anyone with an ounce of common sense WOULD feel slightly annoyed and as I also said I did not research any as I was initially in for a tele and told this is the best tablet available etc so bought it.

The product has been returned to the store as new because it hasn't been used and the stre are pre-ordering the new model tomorrow morning for me, so providing this all goes ok with no issues I will be able to commend comet on their customer service, which as far as im told isn't often the case

There's no trickery at all, if you think there is you're deluded.

IF a salesperson was aware of course there is trickery, I know for a fact in my line of work if i could advise someone of a better product coming out commission or no commission as an honest person I would have advised them of this and have done on numerous occasions, unfortunately that is the way of the world nowadays where nobody gives a ... about anyone else.

However having returned to the shop the salesperson was NOT aware and after a conversation we were both happy that it could be resolved, they still have the sale and a satisfied customer


Oh and the commission the salesperson receives on Ipads is next to nothing or at least it was when a friend worked there selling the original Ipad

I would suspect that the management are not too happy at getting stuck with a bit of obsolete stock.

The assistant manager was there when the product was returned they agree that as it hadn't been removed from the box and accepted it as new, it was for that reason I insisted on the store taking it back off me there and then otherwise I may have found myself in a situation where I take it back to preorder the new one and being told it isnt new

Also they have kept a customer happy and I'm sure any of the Ipad 3 models rmeaining in stock will go on sale or be returned

Bottom line, the OP wanted and asked for an Ipad 3 although it sounds like things have been rectified to his satisfaction.

It is hardly a "shock" announcement. Apple are always bringing out new models of this or that. And just because someone works in a shop does NOT make them "lowly".

Got to agree with you here Gregg, as you said I asked for and got an Ipad3 and had a new model not been announced within hours I would have absolutely no grumble and at no stage have with the salesperson. I returned to the shop and explained the situation and luckily Comet agreed that whilst they had not mis-sold anything they understood my reasoning and would sort this to my satisfaction.

I think the only shock was that the new one will be released November 2nd as which means the ipad 3 was only the new model for 7 months.

The salesperson in comet was by no means lowly and but for the release of this one I was a very happy customer.

I didn't say it did.

I meant as in the order of mac experts the world over who didn't see it coming. I can't help if it you chose to interpret my meaning differently.
