I think the OP might be now wishing Comet hadn't been so helpful. No doubt he thinks the staff knew they were about to go under.0

OP better blaze down to Comet asap

I have bought a number of electrical products in recent months and I didn't consider Comet for any of them as it was only a matter of time.
When a company is sold for £2 and a £50m dowry given to the new owners as well then that says it all about what state they were in.0 -
Not much consolation but Asda are currently selling the "New iPad" for at discounted prices. Checking the specs these are Ipad3's although speaking to customer services they were adamant this was the latest release.
Sad news about Comet, In fairness i purchased my Imac27 from them and managed to get an extended 5yr warranty thrown in after quite a bit of haggling. It was easier than driving to the nearest Apple shop for the same deal on the pc.
Looking at the Comets Extended Warranty it appears to offer protection even if Comet or the Warranty Company cease trading.
Think I may still splash out for Applecare though as a safeguard.0 -

They more than likely are.
I noticed Tesco that are offering a deal on the clubcard have updated theirs from the 3 to the 4.0 -

I wouldn't want £400-500 worth of kit on pre-order with comet ATM.
I queried the wisdom of them having his money AND the goods earlier in this thread and was shot down in flames for being "over the top" !!!
However, I do genuinely hope he gets his money or Ipad back.0 -

Ipad3 IS the latest release. (Until the Ipad4 is formally available).

Sorry, but I agree with most people. Comet have done nothing wrong. When you buy a new phone you always find soon after a better one is out. Way it goes. You said the ipad 4 would cost same as ipad3, no it wont, it will cost more. Apple are clever but we are all sucked in. Tanting wont help you. Good luck.0
