A very small £1.99 spend in Tescos this evening for their cheapy meat-flavour crisps and some cereal bars. Lunchbox fodder basically!

Angelatgraceland - not sure what to say but condolances maybe? Sorry for your loss.

A quick question for you folk - I was in lidl today and they had 3 bird roasts in the freezer. They weighed 1.5kg not sure if that is all meat or includes bones etc. They were £9.99. Does that sound like a good price? Am wondering about getting one or two for xmas dinner..... Not sure yet how many adults I'm feeding, between 4 - 8 plus 2 small kids.....

I did some real cooking at last now we are regaining our appetites. I mad 5 portions of chilli last night after we were picking on "bits" all day. Frezer full of food so I have no excuses! My DS is suddenly realy energy conscious and is watching the enrgy monitor. Ive just told him-he will turn in to his Dad! That makes a welcome change-I guess he is worried about the bills now-well he should be now we are on about half the income! Sorted out car in surance for "my car"-both were in hubbys name. Now in mine and I am paying even less-they gave me his 9yrs NCD as I was a named driver on his policy before. That was good news as I Was fearing it would go up a lot!
Thanks everyone for the virtual hugs!

So sorry for your loss but pleased you have now regained your appetite, You do need to look after yourself in order to stay strong to cope with all the changes. Great news on your car insurance.

No spends for me yet this week and am really hoping to keep using up what I have.

  • So sorry for your loss, angelatgraceland. Glad to see that your DS is so eager to help.

Picked up some quorn ham for sambos on the way home. €2.09 added to total. Really stressful day, but have a belly full of dinner now and am heading for a long soak in the bath with my book.

angelatgraceland and winchelsea - I just wanted to say how very much I admire you both. I do hope this doesn't sound trite, flippant or blase; I cannot even imagine (at a steadfastly single very nearly 29yo) meeting the man I would want/need/desire to marry, let alone facing the heartbreak of losing them. The pain is too much to imagine. Which is why I admire you both so very much for being able to continue with the necessities of daily life. I hope this is taken in the spirit in which it is meant, for I truly cannot imagine myself being so strong in your positions, and I admire you greatly for it.

    Hey everyone

Spent £1 today on some wraps as OH decided he didn't want rice with the chilli. So had veg chilli (from the freezer), cheese, salad and jalapenos in wraps and it was lovely :)

Will head off and update my signature now!

NSD for me yesterday and will be a NSD today too as I am off straight to college after work. I have got leftover sausage casserole for lunch. I never used to like leftovers the next day and would palm them off on DH but this is to yummy to share:rotfl:

I am off tomorrow and need to spend a bit of time making some of the leafy veg into something for lunches/tea so it doesn't get wasted. We are going out for lunch I think so it might have to be some kind of soup.

DH is on tea duty tonight and is planning pizza and chips. I have asked him to put in some jacket pots too and we can have them fo lunches.

Will update my signature tomorrow with the spends from the weekend.
