    went out for lunch and shopping with DM today and paid just under £30 altogether for a lovely meal out - this includes the £4 tip we left as the waiters were SO helpful and polite and really quick service, etc. couldnt have asked for a better time out!

    doubtful that we will come anywhere near budget with 3 weeks to go still, but time will tell I suppose!

    Bare with me because this is grocery challenge related, well life related!!

    I'm reading a great diet book at the moment but it's seems so much more than that as it's about understanding why you do certain things (overeat, overspend etc). It's called The Mouth Trap: the butt stops here (Low Carb edition) just in case anyones interested. She's also written a book about getting out of debt...anyway I digress.

    Here's a brilliant quote that I just read from it, 'Discipline is remembering what you REALLY want!' I thought I'd share that with you, I hope it will pop in to my mind everytime I find myself wandering off my targets and am tempted to overspend on something that I don't really need!! I hope you all keep within your budgets this month! ;)
    Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

    I needed to get milk and some veg today but couldn't find my bank card and couldn't remember the pin on my emergency one! doh!! Had an absolute flap when I got home searching for it then found it in my pocket :o
    I won't have chance to go the shops tomorrow so god knows what concoctions I'll be eating until wednesday night.

    Another NSD here and have been using things up. Lunch was some bacon and sliced up 3 mushrooms that were in and also 3 left over potatoes, had this with toast.
    Then for tea we had Russian roulette pie :rotfl: from out of the freezer. Wasnt sure what it was as label had fell off and was thinking it was either chicken & mushroom, meat & potato or apple pie - turns out it was turkey & veg :D

  • Just popping in now as I have been AWOL due to my husbands illness.
    Sadly he passed away on the 24th October and I now feel I have to start being organised again! DD left home last year so my family of 5 is now a family of 3 and I now need to readjust. Not going to worry about tallying up the years spending as it is impossible. Just back to keeping note of grocery spends as I have major adjustments to make financially.
    Glad I did the challenge the last couple of years though as I am now well equiped to manage my finances better.
    Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

    Sorry to hear your sad news angel. My Dad passed away end of August and it was a big readjustment to organise and take care of all his finances. Me and DM are only just starting to get back on track with everything but we are nearly out of the woods.

    I hope you have people to rally around you and a close family, we are unfortunate in the fact we have had hardly any help at all (non financially speaking) and have to get on with it, and I find most of the work has been left to me to do.

    {{{hugs}}}
