Barclaycard

Hi,
Hope someone can help me.
I had closed my Barclaycard in November 2004.
About 2 weeks a go I wrote to Barclaycard with a cheque for £10 requesting copies of my statements for last 6 years.
They wrote back saying they totally disagree with my assumption that the charges were unfair - funny because I didn't mention anything about the charges being unfair - I simply requested last 6 years statement using the template 1 letter ftom this site.
Then the letter said, as the account has been closed they are unable to locate my statements. However they have offered me £100 as a goodwill.
Can someone tell me what I should do now?
Thanks in advance.
it sounds to me that they have mistaken you with someone else
i would give them a call and say that you oly asked for statements and this is what you got and they can atleast tell you if it is right or not but legally they do have to give you copies of the charges you paid so id still pursue that anyway - do you have a certain amount of time to accept the £100?? id get onto them and get my statements then decide... you might want to do it in writing as you will then have copies and from experience they dont seem to have a clue what they are talking about on the phone :rotfl:

Yes that is OK to do but to be on the safe side I'd make sure that you send it recorded delivery so that you can check it has def been received.

citicard no statements recieved yet after 3 months after £10 SENT
citicard no statements recieved yet after 3 months after £10 sent
momument nothing recieved after 2 letters requesting statements
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks steve0 -
If you haven't received statements after that time I'd try phoning to ask why if you haven't already (to see if they have received them even?) and politely remind them that you are entitled to them within 40 days under the Data Protection Act or you could report them for not complying.
Regards the offers,if you don't want to accept, which I'm presuming that you don't, then if you have sent them the 14 day before court action letter, your next choice is whether to go down the mcol or fo route and file a claim.

Can anyone tell me usually how long it takes from filing papers with the Court (hopefully going to do it in person this afternoon) and, assuming a trouble free passage through the system, the money being refunded?
I have two credit card companies that I'm ready to do the court thing with, but can't afford £160 in charges if they're not being refunded pretty quickly.
If it's going to take a long time, I'll have to wait to do the second one.0 -
Hi all
After being offered £209 against my £803 claim I replied to Barclaycard with a letter accepting the part payment without prejudice and saying I still wanted the full amount, threatening with court if needed.
I received the following reply:
"i note that you are dissatsiedf with our offer to refund £209, however, our position remains that we believe it is fair when customers' break the terms of their agreement with us, we recover the costs. Therefore, i am not prepareed to consider your request for any further refund."
Blah blah, it then goes on to say....
"If my reply does not m
Hieet your expectations you may ultimately be eligible to refer to the Financial Ombudsman Service."
So what do I do now? Is it likely that if i pursue i will get a higher offer or the full amount?? They can't really prove that sending the letters each time you go over limit costs £20-£25 can they????
What steps do i need to take to refer to the Financial Ombudsman or who or what is MCOL. I havent a clue what to do!!!!
Also, i still use my barclaycard and have around £600 on it. Can they cancel it and make me repay immediately???
Thank you so much in advance...This is stressing me out so much!

I have written my letter to Barclaycard outlining my charges and they have credited my account with £152.00 out of £378.00 owed to me. I wish to pursue my claim further ensuring I get the full amount back as im not happy settling for less than half.
I have got my next letter ready stating that I am pursuing a claim through the courts, but what I want to know is, when I put in my claim do I need to put the full amount i.e £378.00 or do I deduct from it the money they have already given back to me; meaning I claim £256.00.
I have told them that I accept their offer as part settlement in pursuance of the full amount.
Thanks for the help.0 -

Hi.
If you look through your paperwork, the main address for Barclays is Churchill something, havent got it to hand, it should be on one og the letters.
Or try the website for Barclays and have a look on there.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Hi
As well as recorded delievery, keep a copy of the serial number, as that can be traced if the p o has been cashed, just an extra security measure 4 yourself. if you give them an inch they take a mile xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
