"Further to your request for copy statements,we are writing to inform you that the 40 day legal time limit for supplying this information is about to expire.
The reason for the delay in our providing this information is the very large number of identical requests that we have recieved, all of which are obliged to respond to in the same timescale.
We have made the Information Commissioner's Office aware of the volume challenges we face and that we are writing to you in these terms. We are sorry for the delay but assure you that we will let you have your statements as soon as we can.
We regret that we are not able to enter into correspondence with you about this issue."
Is this a standard letter??
Anyone else had one??
Oh and it just goes to show that they are either just trying to delay things or they are getting alot of people asking!!!
I would report them to the IC - they have to supply you with the information you have requested within 40 days.0 -

(Given that there are lots of people claiming from Barclaycard, a few people must know)
£20. At least, that's what they charged me in 2003...With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0 -
Claimed £680 from Barclaycard.Got a letter offering £260,what they are saying is
thats the difference between what I claimed and the fees had a £12 charge been applied.Any advice on this.
Also would someone confirm that small claims court in Scotland is only for a max.of £750.0 -
This seems to be Barclaycards standard reply, you can claim for the full amount if you reject their offer and carry on to court.
Read this website re claiming in Scotland.

They went over the forty day limit with me too. I am going to file a complaint with the information commission. (Why not? They would certainly take similar if not more extreme action if you were late with their requests, isn't this why we are reclaiming form them in the first place?)
Also here is a something that may have been experienced by other reclaimers. I thought it really strange. Barclaycard took the entire forty days to send old statments and then once they sent them, they sent 75per cent of them by microfile. There's gotta be someone I can complain to! This is really cheeky in my view, how does a normal member of the public read microfile? Does this fall under the Information commision's remit?
Any help is really appreciated.
JohnReclaiming Bank Charges in the UK
Trying to Reclaim in the USA0 -
I have just received an offer from barclaycard which says we will give you the difference between the charges and the £12 fee recommended by the oft. this ammounts to less than half my claim.
I want the full ammount, obviously. Is this just another tactic from barclaycard and should I get my 3rd letter off to them?
Anybody else in this situation?
All help greatly appreciated.........
