I have requested Barclaycard statements too and I have checked the Royal Mail Tracker and it says on there it still hasnt been delivered.
I will contact the IC if I dont receive the details sureley if they get enough complaints they can do something about it.
Should I check with post office to double check they had my letter?0 -

The problem is that Barclaycard appear to not sign for the letters. As I said my SAR was unsigned for, I contacted the post office who would only reimburse me for any lost contents.
I subsequently sent a second recorded delivery letter, and that one has not been signed for either !
Barclaycard have had the original letter as they have contacted me today to say they will miss the 40 day deadline and I quote -
"We regret that we are not able to enter into correspondence with you about this matter" !!0 -
mmmmmm does this mean barclaycard are gonna be tough nuts to crack?0

Hi there!
Just sent a letter off to Barclaycard asking for statements for a credit card I had with them which is now closed...still waiting for a reply! :rolleyes:0 -
Just rang Barclaycard to see if they received the letter I sent recorded delivery and they said dont sign for recorded! I had somehow guessed this because Royal Mail website cant confirm delivery.
So now do I just wait 40 days and then if nothing contact IC or should I chase them again a week or two?0 -
You can't complain until the 40 days are up.0

I know I cant complain for 40 days but I am just hoping that after 40 days they say they havent receved a request from me and have to do it all over again for another 40 days.0

If you mean you have written to ask them for all information/statements regarding your charges then yes, they are entitled to ask for £10 to pay for this.

After my frst letter they offered me the difference between the £12 and what they actually charged me. For example if I was charged £20 by them they would give me £8 back for that. I was happy with that as £12 is seen as a "reasonable" charge on credit cards so I accepted and the money went onto my card to pay back some of my outstanding balance0

£12 is not seen as a 'reasonable charge'. It is the maximum the OFT will accept without automatically regarding it as unfair. The OFT also state that only a court can rule if this amount is fair. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
