Wow that seems an intersting answer, there could be hope have you got the email address you used.
Sorry to be nosey, but did you reduce the amount you were claiming for an early settlement.
Cheers:beer:Hi Claire,
I'm also on Barclays' case for my Dad, but we're way behind you at the moment. However, I've been reading all possible threads to make sure I'm prepared and I've just found this posting that tells you what Barclays solicitor said
Hi guys,
I have issued a MCOL with Barclays and I thought I would email the litigation dept to see if they wanted to settle out of court (could really do with the money right now!) and I got this reply from them. Just thought I'd post it on the board so people can see what Barclays stance is on settling cases and the timescales involved...
Thank you for your email and your offer to settle early. I fully intend to settle your claim before it gets to court but the only problem is the sheer amount of people I am dealing with at the moment. I am still dealing with people who are in court next week, and unfortunately the first possible time I am able to look at settlement is once they have a court date set. I know this is not an ideal solution but unfortunately it is the only method we have of not missing anybody. I will of course refund any new court costs incurred in the eventual settlement.
Please feel free to contact me once you have a court date and I will be able to give you a better sense of when your case will be settled.
Thanks,
Tom
So I think in answer to your question, you will need to go through the process, but you should definitely get your money before the court date itself. Good Luck and hope you don't have to wait too longxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I have filed a claim with money claim which BC have aknowledged... the papers were deemed to be served to them on 30th of April... so the 28 days is up today but I cannot send a judgement today... i presume I have to wait till tomorrow which would be 29 days??
Anyone else got to that stage??0 -

Hi,
I had that with the same experience with MCOL, basically it says 28 days, but they wont let you put in a judgement until the 29th day, but a penny to apound, by the time you log on tomorrow, BC will of put in a defence, they usually do it on the last day.
If that has happened you wont be able to put in a claim, the next step is, this will go to your local court and you will be sent a copy of the defence, think it took about 10 days for my paperwork to come thorugh.
Good luckxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Hi
The letter is as follows:
Notice of Case management Conference
(My name and address)
Claim number/ Claiment / Defendant/ Date
"TAKE NOTICE that the case Management conference will take place on
19 July 2007 at 3.30PM
at ( My local County Court)
When you should attend
15 MINUTES has been allowed for the Case Management Conference
Please Note : This case may be released to another judge, possibly at a different Court"
Nothing to say what to bring, no other letters or anything, very wierd.
Hope someone can shred light on the matter
Cheers
Cheryl
Case Management Conference in family court means just that .It is a directions /court hearing where all parties ,judge and legal reps get together and have a conference eg discussion to see what next ,deadllines , timetables ,dates , who does what , what more info needed .Often za settlemernt /agreerment is reached at these I therefore suspect that this is the same process in Financial Claims courts and perhaps yours is a particularly busy court and is therefore using this system of managing the workload.0 -

So sorry to hear that, the next step is, your be sent a copy of the defence, standard Barclaycard burp, then your get a letter saying its been moved to your local court, what I would suggest is, that if your going to be away in the next 6 mths at all on hol, get in as soon as you get the letter, that way you get the brownie points and Barclaycard have to have the dates allocated.
Im at the stage where Ive got a case conference in July.. HELPxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
