just wondering if anyone has reclaimed charges from credit cards.
i have just had a letter from barclaycard littlewoods, they have credited my account with £120.00 i am claiming £480 ish .. just wondered if i should continue with my claim.
they said ..its a goodwill and without any admission of liability. Please be advised thet from 1st aug 06 barclaycard reduced its fee to £12 following the publication of the statement bye OFT. £120 is the differnece between the charges i have occured and the £12 fee.

When I received my last six years BarclayCard statements with a view to reclaiming the late payment and over credit fees, I noticed that from November 2001 - February 2002 I had additionally been charged seven BarclayCard International Rescue Charges. I was not previously aware of these charges because I was travelling abroad during this period and my parents were minding the account for me whilst I was gone. The International Rescue Charges total £2,850 with the largest individual charge being £1,000.
I immediately phoned BarclayCard and they informed me that they couldn't bring my statements up on screen as, due to the time-frame, they were on microfiche. So I asked to what 'BarclayCard International Rescue Charge' refers. I was informed it was a service that they no longer offer but it was used in emergencies when you're travelling abroad e.g. emergency card, replacement cash, accommodation, flights. I was travelling during the period in question, and I did have my credit card stolen; however, when this occurred, I phoned my parents who cancelled the card and had a new card sent to them in the UK and then they posted it out to me abroad. Even if BarclayCard were to charge me an International Rescue Charge for this incident (of £600), it doesn't explain the further six charges made (£250, £200, £200, £200, £400, £1000). My parents have no idea what the charges are about.
When I wrote the first reclaim letter to BarclayCard, I added the International Rescue Charges to the Schedule of Charges on the off-chance that they would additionally refund these charges. I have subsequently received a letter offering me a settlement for the late payment charges and over credit fees (for the difference between the total and the £12 fee) which I plan to accept in relation to these. The letter makes absolutely no reference to the International Rescue Charges and, understandably, I want to pursue this further; however, I'm not sure what my next step should be? Should I write for clarification on what these charges refer to? Should I say that I think the charges are unlawful and that I want a refund? Given the amount involved, I am very keen to obtain advice on this and pursue it as far as necessary. Has anyone any advice on this or had any similar experiences?0 -

Case Management is a new one on me but it sounds like the court is having a Hearing to decide if a lot of cases they have before them should go any further.
More information from the letter would help as to what you have to take also which court it is.0 -

As they aren't bank charges but a charge for a "service" they will ignore them in your claim.
You can't say that the charges are unlawful as you don't know what they are for so you would need to put in a complaint as why they were applied to your account and on whose authority.0 -

Hi
The letter is as follows:
Notice of Case management Conference
(My name and address)
Claim number/ Claiment / Defendant/ Date
"TAKE NOTICE that the case Management conference will take place on
19 July 2007 at 3.30PM
at ( My local County Court)
When you should attend
15 MINUTES has been allowed for the Case Management Conference
Please Note : This case may be released to another judge, possibly at a different Court"
